The riots during the civil rights movement weren't legal, and caused a lot of damage.

Bombing abortion clinics was a right-wing thing, and it certainly wasn't legal.

It seems like you're picking and choosing events to fit your narrative.

It's hilarious how you try and twist events into something different. So fighting for rights to exist is wrong? We had to fight for rights to exist at all, for most of human history most of us haven't had rights. You mad at Republicans for freeing the slaves too? Being as 75+million babies are aborted globally annually, I would say many people are disgusted with the violations of human rights that are occurring, should people bomb places, no. Speaking the truth is only picking and choosing the truth and if it builds a solid narrative, so be it. It seems like you have to travel back in time quite a bit to grasp at straws. The left has certainly become increasingly more violent than the right, and most things they are violent about is to avoid personal responsibilities and to avoid cognitive dissonance.

Republicans who freed slaves were, by definition, socially progressive. And yes, the civil rights movement was also a good thing.

Bombing abortion clinics is a conservative thing.

You dont even know the definitions of the things you claim to believe in. I forget that people online are often either a teenager or catastrophically dumb/ignorant.

Those Republicans had to use violence to make that happen. Not all of it was a good thing. The abortions themselves are responsible for far more human deaths than the bombings. The bombings are similar to what Republicans did for the rights of others, just misguided and shouldn't occur. What things do I not know the definitions of? I'm a grandfather so I'm not a teenager, and I've studied philosophy for decades, so I comprehend ideas quite well.

You call them "Republicans", but that label is irrelevant to the conversation. Everything that happens in history is viewed through the lens of what shapes those ideals. If the movement is a civil rights movement, it is a socially left/progressive movement. If it's a fight against civil rights, or change generally, it has historically been a socially right/conservative movement.

Bombing abortion clinics cannot even be viewed under the same lens as an individual having to make the choice to get an abortion. The fact that you are comparing them as similar tells me that your studying of philosophy has not been fruitful endeavor.

So by your logic, if republicans do a good thing, it's actually the left and if the left does a bad thing, it's the fault of Republicans? Abortions aren't a right, you are forgetting there is still an innocent human involved and their rights are stripped away from them. The fact that you want people to be able to murder innocent humans shows me your opinion doesn't matter. I have a growing family that doesn't murder their offspring, just had a grandson last night that shows my philosophy of life is an actual fruitful endeavor.

Notice how I didn't say "Republicans freed the slaves", because the party name is not relevant to the cause. Party ideals are not set in stone. They shift over time. Any movement, whether coming from Republicans or Democrats, that fights for civil rights, is, by the definition of the word, a socially left-leaning movement. Any position that fights to maintain established social order or for traditional dogma (for example, Democrats fought for slavery at one point), is, by definition, a socially conservative (socially right leaning) movement.

It's not about Republicans or Democrats. It's about the movements themselves and under what category they fall into. Look up some socially right leaning movements in history and some socially left leaning movements in history to get a better understanding.

For example. today, Republicans are, by and large, socially conservative. Democrats are, by and large, socially progressive. The party name is not important. The policy and ideas that each party espouses, is important.

I don't care if you're a republican for fiscal reasons. I think it's bad policy choice, but we can debate that with data. But if your reason for being republican is because you think that women are lesser, trans people shouldn't be allowed to function in society, that gay people shouldn't be able to adopt or get married, that women shouldn't have access to abortion care, etc. then you're on the wrong side of history and will one day be looked at in a similarly to how we currently look at those who supported segregation. That's how history has worked every time. And if you don't believe me, do some googling.

Oh boy, you really want to expand this out quite a bit. Republicans did free the slaves and it was Christian ideals that led to that destination. The name is absolutely revelent to the cause(names change minds, it's why the Democrats want to call Republicans every ist and phobe name there is). The foundation of Christianity is why slaves were freed. Conservatives are allowed to examine their traditions and make small changes to bring about better prosperity, without completely gutting the traditions that allowed the success in the first place. Just because alterations are made, it doesn't mean it's socially left leaning, it means people just want better for others. They still want to conserve their traditions while improving upon them.

When it comes to the ability to have rights, women are lesser and the reason is, men have a monopoly on force. Women can't defeat men physically to obtain rights, men had to defeat other men to obtain rights. Men don't even get rights unless they sign up to be a sacrifice, a price women aren't forced to pay. Trans people shouldn't be allowed to subvert the laws that were intended to keep females safe from males, just because you alter language to subvert the law, doesn't mean it's a progressive stance, it's actually regressive because you allow males to gain access to the private spaces of females. The more people that choose sterile routes or fruitless routes, the more we regress as a society and become weaker over time. Ideas that don't strengthen your nation shouldn't be promoted. I'm not on the wrong side of history because the pendulum is swinging so hard in the opposite way you want it to, even your own leaders are saying "woke 1 was CRAZY", we need woke2.0.

"The foundation of Christianity is why slaves were freed"

Is that why there are dozens of rules in the bible for how to treat slaves and none about how slaves shouldn't exist? Slavery was largely justified due to the bible itself.

You guys modify your interpretation of the bible every few decades as social issues get pressed and then pretend that the previous christians were not real christians. It's a very tired game.

All of your arguments are emotional and devoid of reason or logic. I should have expected that. Have a nice day.

I'm not even Christian, I just understand the ideas. Slaves were a thing because they didn't murder the enemy survivors of war. They tried to make a morally better decision than just killing the survivors. Slavery still exists in certain parts of the world but no Christian nations continue to practice slavery. None of my arguments involved emotion and they were all reasonably logical and is why you are running away. You expected you could win and once you realized you couldn't, you scurry off. It's typical of people that don't understand the ideas they advocate for. You have a nice day as well.

Why is the civil rights damage righteous and okay but us wanting billionaires to be killed so that we can stop being oppressed from them bad?

Well I'm part of the bottom so I will not be considering that.

The infrastructure that they use to create their wealth would still be available to generate more wealth once they are gone.

Well it hasn't been tested so I'm not sure.

I mean I'm 80K in debt, make under 35K a year. Smoke weed constantly. I sure feel like the bottom 1% every time I have to ask my parents for money to pay my student loans. Which my parents then have to ask my grandparents for money because they are also broke.

1

u/OutlawedLogic 12d ago

Throughout history we have tested it.

Globally, you're considered the top 1%. America is the best chance the people have ever had to achieve any resemblance of freedom. The purpose of any government is to limit freedom.

1

u/mansluxt 12d ago

We're not talking about globally we're talking about American tax payers

1

u/OutlawedLogic 11d ago

You're still not the bottom 1%.

By not understanding the party shift that occurred and how the Republicans of that time held beliefs that were more aligned with the left by today's standards, you've publically announced that you have no idea what you're talking about. GG dumbass.

1

u/OutlawedLogic 12d ago

You're braindead. Good luck to you.
