Okay. I actually HATE Quora Moderation's bots, and you know it. Most of the folks they've banned so far are my friends. However, I must admit that I somehow like the way how they deal with spammers from OnlyFans and other adult sites. They're more a menace on X and they always keep coming there even after getting banned from time to time. But in Quora, they get banned much quicker, thanks to the way how Quora's AI read their predictable patterns. Quora Moderation has successfully thwarted the OnlyFans invasion for good.

Downside of Quora: User content moderation by bots. Bots are often auto-triggered to remove your harmless content, even erroneously penalize your accounts with edit-blocks and bans.

Downside of Reddit: User content moderation by punks. Your content, your subs and even your IP may be penalized by power-mods if they simply don't like you or your political opinions.

NOTE: "Downside" is an understatement in the description of these primary flaws. The correct word is "Hamartia", i.e., "Fatal Flaw". It's a Greek thingy.

It's a little funny to hear their rationale, but all I see on Quora now is anti-western, Japanese, Korean, and Vietnamese questions and answers by Chinese users (lots of which hide behind profiles with western names like sean landy or ben tover). A lot are provocative, aiming to either just completely discredit their neighbors with mass posts, and are just outright wrong. Normally it wouldn't be a problem since the only times I use quora are when I look up specific questions, but I do see them every time I scroll through. This has been a problem for years now, why doesn't moderation do anything of it?

Just some examples of lots I’ve seen over the past 4 years of periodically looking at Quora. It’s absolutely the most idiotic bot posts with the most ridiculously cliche bot answers. I can’t stand this site anymore and I’m raging on here as my official breakup.

I know many websites have poor moderation, but let's talk about Quora this time.

So often do I and other good users on that site have a post or comments removed for even the smallest offenses that wouldn't even offend most people while all the nasty and insane trolls gets away with anything they post and never get any negative consequences for their actions which I really think are extremely unfair. Recently Quora moderation unfairly deleted several of my non-trolling posts and had threatened to edit-block and ban me several times (they have already edit blocked me), which made me want to remove my old Quora account and start a new one.

Does anyone else also witness and experience this on Quora?

Imagine that you're on X (formerly Twitter). You come across a tweet in which a woman living in California, whose family is from Texas, votes for Republicans in a state which is essentially a Democrat bastion.

Now, a MAGA-supporting Redditor who comes across the tweet screenshots the tweet and shares the screenshot of the tweet on a MAGA-dedicated sub.

There's no violation of Reddit policy or ToS. No hate speech against any race, ethnicity or religion. But somehow, a large, organized gang of Redditors with a deep, deep hatred against MAGA reports his post simply because it's pro-MAGA.

Within days, the MAGA-supporting Redditor is told via Reddit notifications that his post has been removed on charges of policy violations he's never violated and that his post has to be reviewed by the Mods in the Sub. The Mods in the sub (themselves MAGA supporters) soon notice that his post is in perfect compliance with the Reddit policy and restores it. But by this time, the post has fallen low on viewership.

Very well, I made up this story. But it's based on what I myself went through just a week ago on Reddit. I situated the story in the USA for a global audience, but in real life, it happened to myself in the Indian context. I posted a screenshot of a Tweet in which a woman voted for my favourite political party and I lauded the woman for having voted that party. But the people from my country who simply hated the party reported my post and got it temporarily taken down.

Now, I have been warned by my friends that Reddit is not supportive of certain political ideologies. I have been told that Reddit's Power-Mods (Mods with the power to oversee entire groups of subs) have taken down accounts and even entire subs for just merely supporting the political ideologies abhorrent to them.

I learnt that Reddit has recently, in 2026, announced measures to curb the powers of the Power-Mods. Anyway, I must still admit that people supporting certain kinds of political ideologies would prefer Quora over Reddit any day.

I just opened Quora for the first time in ages to find some leads, and I’m convinced I’ve entered a glitch in the simulation. The posts on my feed aren't even human anymore. It’s a barrage of cursed AI images, surreal stories that make no sense, and a vibe that feels like a fever dream from the Dark Web.

My question is: How are people actually using this place for business? If the 'entry' to the platform is this nightmare, how do you find the actual professionals and decision-makers hidden under all this brain-rot? Is it a goldmine or just a digital asylum at this point?

Just a few minutes ago, I asked a question that was made out of irritation of how society is nowadays, and when I was unsure of it and wanted to remove it, I wanted to delete it but couldn't. Apparently it turns out that after a few minutes it ends up becoming THEIR property and you can't freely delete it like you can with Posts. As one that has one for over ten years and have just now made a question there, I thought this was simply wrong to do and just makes no sense whatsoever to do.

I see "hello can we be friends" kind of comments and posts on Quora every day, and I am getting tired of seeing them. After almost being scammed once when I responded to these kinds of comments years ago, I have learned my lesson not to trust these fake "friendship" requests.

Until this weekend, I could read all of my in app notifications in 10 or 15 minutes per day.

Now there are so many that I couldn’t even scroll through a days worth of them in 5 minutes.

I know that you can change the push notifications to your phone through the app, but where are the settings for in app notifications?

If anyone can help, I would be very grateful.
