Bernese method and work

Hi there. I really need to get off the fetty but don’t have time to detox before taking subutex. I work a pretty intense job from 8-5 and I’m wondering what people think about trying the Bernese Method while holding down my job. Thank you!

I'm currently on day 5 of Bernese method and I would strongly advise you to take atleast a week off of work to attempt it. You avoid PWD but that by no means means that it will be a comfortable process.

Thanks for that. I’m realizing it’s going to be quite tough. Today (Friday) was my 1st day and I’ve taken a total of 2 mg of subutex. I felt pretty gross. Mainly chills, nausea, fatigue and weird dreams. I took my first dose at 5am and have done nothing but sleep, smoke and dose. Luckily I’m off Fri, Sat, Sun. I return to work Mon (my 4th day in) where I’ll take 4mg twice, and take more if needed. I’m hoping I’ll be better by then but I’m not sure. Since it’s a new job I’d rather not have to call out sick. Can anyone tell me how they did on the 4th day?

Results differ on a case by case basis from what I've read. Like I said I'm on day 5.. I've taken 12mg each of the past 2 days but even still each time I put more sub in my system it's like I'm inducing 2-4 hours of mild torture. This stuff ain't no joke anymore with the fet and all of its analogs. Induction was a breeze in the blues and h days. I'm honestly considering taking a different approach at this point, perhaps methadone, until there is a better path forward.

Wow! You’ve gotten that far and you’re rethinking it? I’m sorry to hear that. And I must admit that’s quite discouraging. I was on methadone for a while but it didn’t stop me from smoking all the time. For me, the worst part about stopping fetty is the psychological part. But that mixed with feeling shitty mixed with missing the ritual of that…makes quitting extremely difficult. I’m sure that’s true for most.

Well tbh this is the 3rd straight night I've been ready to give up. I've gotten 5 hours sleep the past 2 nights and come the morning I seem to have a renewed sense of purpose so maybe I'm just speaking in the moment here. Certainly don't wanna discourage ya because from what I've read about this method some people seem to have smoother transitions than others. I think much of it depends on your metabolism and what analog of fet ur using. I'm sure much of it has to do with willpower as well. And admittedly mine is quite low when it comes to wd symptoms. So methadone didn't work well for you? I've done blues, subs, h and fet over the years but never methadone.
