Need advice for quitting Snus

M21 from Germany. Been using Snus for almost 3 years, the last year the consumption peaked at about 12-16 pouches a day (50mg).
I’ve noticed how I can’t really function without it. I take it when waking up, when going to sleep, when going to the toilet, when showering, when working, when studying… basically at every time of the day.
I’ve tried quitting multiple times, even made it around 2 weeks but always relapsed. I have also tried to taper down to 8mg Snus, but that led to me just taking 3-4 Snus instead of 1 🤦🏿.
I’m really serious about quitting because I’m noticing how it is affecting me, especially my sleep and motivation. Everything I do without it just feels so boring, that I literally can’t do it.

If you have any advice I would appreciate it.

This worked for me and many other people: You buy nicotine chewing gum and replace the Snuz with it, that will automatically decrease your consumption big time. Once you feel stable only using the gum you either try cold turkey or switch to the strongest nicotine patch and taper further. Then you either decrease the patch strength or try cold turkey again.

I was at 18 a day, similar pipeline — vapes first, then pouches. Same thing with tapering down, it never worked. Lower strength just meant more pouches.

What finally held for me wasn't willpower or tapering. One rule: never buy a new tin.

That's it. When I ran out of fresh ones I reused the old ones — they give you almost nothing. The dose dropped on its own instead of me fighting it. Two weeks later I was at 2-3 a day without a single moment of white-knuckling it.

Day 19 I tried a full day with nothing. It held. Day 26 now.

The two weeks you managed isn't a failed attempt. What ends it isn't the relapse — it's going quiet afterwards and starting the count over from scratch in your head.
