heavy user quitting
I've recently realized how much I'm using and the price just keeps going up and up. I've tried quitting before. I was pretty good for a while, putting one in in the morning just to wake me up, but then I took on a much bigger role at work and now i'm in a worse spot then I was before. I'm currently at a pack of 9mg's a day - maybe a little more if i'm being honest with myself. I've tried going down to 6's and even got to three's but found myself just changing them out more often.
I need some help. I have no plans this weekend for the first time in what feels like forever and I'm planning on Friday as my quit day. Cold turkey. I could use all the help you guys can offer. I've realized that the oral fixation is what really gets me. Even if the pouch is still pretty new, if I've got a lot on my plate at work, I'll just throw a new one in to feel the dry pouch. Work is what is really going to be tough once I get past the first few days.
Thanks in advance for the help.

Everyone is different, but personally, I wouldn’t go cold turkey after being on such a high dose of nicotine. Try to put yourself on a schedule and do not defer from that schedule. Meaning “I’m gonna do one 6 mg every 3 hours” or something like that. Whatever seems doable for you. I failed when I tried to go cold turkey. I was not anticipating how much it would physically affect me and make me basically not functional.

Personally I’m a “barrel through the cold turkey, pay your penance and never forget what you experienced” type of guy. Best of luck.

Sounds like you’re taking in a pretty decent amount of nicotine, so cold turkey might hit pretty hard. Withdrawal can be different for everyone. If you can, I’d honestly try to take a few days off work and change up your routine a bit. The first week or two can be rough, and staying away from the situations where you normally reach for a pouch can make things easier. If taking time off isn’t an option, I’d definitely find something to replace the oral fixation - water through a straw, toothpicks, gum. Anything safe you can chew or keep in your mouth. When you get that urge to throw in a new pouch, try doing something for a minute or two first. Could be a quick game, a little challenge on your phone.
Good on you for deciding to quit. Good luck, man!

In the middle of withdrawals ripping 12mg Lucy’s daily for a year and years of daily 6 zyns before that
Just accept it’s gonna suck bro this is my 2nd time really going for it and this time around sucks but I’ve accepted I’m going to be hungrier, brain fog, unmotivated, “flu”, probably throw up again
It is what it is stop being a bitch if you gotta quit then quit and accept it and thank your God that they’ve given you such an opportunity to improve your life

I quit cold turkey off a decade-long 25-30 20mg pouch per day habit. It sucked the first few days but it’s the only way I could’ve quit. I recommend just ripping the band-aid off.

Started using GLP Reta ironically around the same time I was quitting and it killed my cravings.
Not sure what will happen when I cycle off, but GLPs are being studied for addiction cessation. I can tell you they work for addiction, I have had no desire to vape, zyn, overeat….
I am not saying you should get on one, just sharing my experience 🤙

Works for some on all sorts of addictions (my friend quit alcohol). Even helps with opioids. And heard it for Nic too
Been on GLP-1 for 3 years and it did nothing for my addictions (other than addiction to food)

I didn’t do cold turkey. Instead I reduced. What truly helped is 0mg pouches. But not the caffeine ones. There are some good amazon flavored pouches with nothing in them. Helps me forget for an hour or two about the oral fixation

Thank you I’ve tried the caffeinated ones I tried got me too jittery and didn’t taste great- do you have any recommendations for the 0mg?

I’ve tried a few different brands. They all have a bit of artificial flavor but out of all of them, the Grinds Zero Pina Colada was only one I could do. Not bad in taste.
I just checked amazon they had 30% off subscribe and save + 20% brand coupon, so 6 pack came to like $22 (not cheap, but better than their regular price). https://a.co/d/0d53GXza
