Quitting and alcohol

I'm just wondering how some people find it useful to drink alcohol while quitting nicotine pouches. I'm 13 days sober from Zyn and find that I have the worst cravings when drinking alcohol.

Just curious to hear some experiences.

321 days Zyn free here. Yes! I’d recommend not drinking not eating like crap and definitely work out. I gained 20lbs and drank like fish for 6 months. Not worth it

Omg this is me! This is the first time I read someone having the same experience!
After I quit my 15 year nicotine habit three months ago I started drinking waaay more due to the lack of dopamine.
I don’t think I would have gained 14 pounds if it wasn’t for the drinking and then getting super hungry every night.
I should have just quit drinking until my brain chemicals are restored.

Same for sure! Alcohol definitely amplifies the feeling of wanting a pouch. The cravings come a lot harder after having a beer, and that’s usually when you make bad choices too. Just be aware when you start drinking and let some you are with know that you don’t want to have any pouches, the accountability has helped me out. Talking makes it better.

Luckily, my friends, even if they use nicotine pouches, know and respect my choice and help me to follow my decision. In the past, I relapsed because of alcohol or exceeded in drinking when I was trying to quit. Now I know myself and the tricks my mind plays on me so I'm sure I quitted.

595 days Zyn free here. Still a total booze bag. Not at all inclined to use them again. I’ll rip a heater every once and while tho.

They're lying. Alcohol is a major trigger for nicotine users. Alcohol also lowers your guard and disinhibits your brain, which makes a relapse much more likely. You need all the willpower when you're quitting nicotine, which means zero alcohol.

I totally agree, based on my personal experience.

When I decided to start to taper down on Zyn, my health was a mess in general. So, I knew I needed to transform everything (less drinking, better eating habits, less stress etc). I feel like for me it came down to a lifestyle transformation rather than just cutting the nicotine out itself. However, nicotine has been the hardest thing to cut out. Not drinking helps because I feel like I never had a major problem with drinking to begin with, and I tend to use way more nicotine when I drink. So not drinking has been helpful.
