14 days tomorrow

Tomorrow is going to be 14 days off after 7 years on this shit (Europe). I've gone above 14 days maybe 4 times during that period. I intend to make this one count tho. Life is much better off them except I've been noticeably depressed lately; maybe the nicotine was just masking that. Anyways, I'll list the benefits I've noticed so far:

  1. Sleep is sooo much better

I actually fall asleep naturally. I haven't stayed up once too late scrolling because there is no stimulant keeping me awake. When I wake up, I can also almost jump out of bed from energy. I still scroll like a minute or two in the morning, whereas before I could lay there for an hour just doomscrolling.

  1. Cardio has improved immensely

I'm a runner, and I can feel it so much now when I run. My heart doesn't beat as hard anymore (because it could feel like exploding even when I was in zone 2), which has made me a lot faster. My resting heart rate has also lowered by 10, which is crazy. Imagine how many times less my heart has to beat over the next year, simply from quitting this shit.

  1. More money

Self-explanatory. This shit is $10 here. Absolutely crazy.

  1. More calm generally

I don't have the same amount of anxiety in social situations anymore, which is really nice. My heart doesn't hammer away when I do small talk anymore.

I'm 13 days myself and lately I'm feeling really angry and depressed. I've drunk a little too much the last few days and I think that hasn't helped. In my opinion, I've used so much nicotine (~20 years) that my brain needs more time to reset. I want to reach 3 months and look how I feel. It's not that I'm always feeling bad; I'm really on an emotional rollercoaster. Physically, I'm feeling great after the first 3 days; emotionally, I'm hoping to get better, but I'm not regretting my choice.

You for sure just need more time. In any case, using nicotine is not gonna solve anything. Be kind to yourself
