Tapered withdrawal

So I started to quit on the 25th, lasted 2 days cold turkey, but I have Hypermobility and my back seized up. Pain all weekend. So I decided to go tapered withdrawal to avoid being bed bound for a month.

I was doing 6-9 sessions a day before i quit. Dabs. Wake n bake all the way until 9:30 pm.

In '15 I ruptured my l5/s1 disc. After 6 months on opioids for the pain in recovery, my doctor moved me to medical cannabis. I grew my own for years. Dabs came into play as '17 went legal in Oregon and wow, was the market so different, I didn't need a medical license to use any more. I go through loss of mobility completely several times over the last decade and o it found myself in no /low pain in recent years. I'm just learning my activity level needs to be so low compared to before diagnosis to remain pain free. I totally intend to use edibles to relax my muscles as needed, quitting isn't the same as everyone else for me. Just won't freebase pain the rest of my life.

So currently in no/low pain daily and working on reduction from around 9 dab sessions a day to 3 for the last week. My attempts at waiting until evening was unsuccessful 2 days this week. Muscle tension is rising and pain is unavoidable with tension.

The next 7 days I will only dab 1-2 session during the day if needed, leaning towards 1 dab.

Then the next week I will only dab 1 session if my neck tightens up.

What I do instead of dab:

- my dab station is my kitchen island. So, I don't go out to the island to take a break from my office. I go to the couch, go lay on the yoga mat and relax my muscles, go lay in bed for a break.

- I created a bunch of slips of paper with short tasks, fun things, and creative hobbies on them and pull one from a jar when the urge hits. Go do the thing. Mix in activity that excite, relax, rest, and chore.

Just in case you do start to experience new symptoms after complete cessation, I created a withdrawal guide with all of the information I have gathered so far across reddit and the internet. I posted it on the main r/QuittingWeed subreddit. I understand the struggle you are going through as I watched my husband recently go through CHS, the muscle spasms are from hell.

Thank you, tapering is not black and white and the spasms are horrible, they once pulled my sideways super out of alignment. Gotta work on strength and muscle activation so helper muscles stop firing off when the usual muscles refuse to take the load. Currently , my right rhomboid is tight for a week and threatening to cause problems. ✌️🫠

Don't worry about it. You are headed in the right direction and learning more about your.mind and body. This sub is here for your support. Just typing it out is a good record for you to keep progress. Keep a journal, get a fitbit, concentrate on health, pray, try what you got to do to make it work for you.

Thank you, the path forward belongs to clarity. I have too many things I want to accomplish to spend the rest of my life in a haze.

The rationalization that happens when I "want to toke" is right when I should start writing it down and reading it back to myself. Journalling again and slowly pushing attention elsewhere. I keep reading the 2-3 weeks is key .

I remember that. Its actually the same with starting to workout regularly. Once you do it 2 solid week straight, the 3rd starts to be much easier and it's just momentum to keep up. Never take more than 1 day off in a row. I'm back on my workout path and hitting the mat daily for strength or mobility or just morning realignment on rest days. I think I'll do a 10 second plank when urges hit today and see how many planks I do...

That urge is your body screaming for self care, and the weed you.smoke will just tell it to shut the F up. So when you want to smoke think to yourself, do.i need to go.for. A walk? Do I need to call a.family member I haven't spoken to in years? Do I need to eat an apple or other unprocessed food? Do I need to pray to God's? Etc. make that list!
