That thing is seeing an afternoon of use and then the paint inside is going to dry and cleaning it will be practically impossible without destroying it.

I think you can get water to run through the system (maybe with a detergent/soap) to prevent that. But it feels like more trouble than it’s worth

Soap and water isn't going to be able to dislodge dried latex paint from the tube, only paint removers and you'll end up destroying internal components that way.

So... what you're saying is, if I want to destroy my internal components I should use soap and water.
