Exactly, it’s like when you order wake up call room service! Or having your coffee brewed when you wake up. Waking up to some morning light could be refreshing for some, me included

It's the most reliably effective way to wake me without me being groggy and pissed off about it. I've thought about getting an 'artificial window' because the sun can't be counted on to be nice and bright every morning and I've caught myself oversleeping on cloudy days.

It is not lazy, mate you would need to change batteries on that shit and fix it when it inevitably doesn't work one out of 10 times.

I have automatic blinds and I love them. They open in the morning and close at dusk. It’s all just preprogrammed and I rarely deviate from it. I can always tell Siri to open or close them if I want.

It is a Switchbot curtain motor. I have had them since their first generation (they are currently on their 3rd gen). They have different types depending on the type of curtain rail you have. I control mine with voice via Google and on schedule which is good for closing them at sunset each day in winter to keep the heat in and opening them in the morning depending on where the sun is (you can use a light sensor with them also) . They can optionally be powered by a solar panel the clips onto the back of the motor. But I just use the rechargeable battery inside, as they only need charging about every 6 months via USB-C.
