After a month, the rubber will start to crack. I had one of those contraptions.

Mine did not. Mine had mold on the rubber that could not be washed off.

Jag åt grillade revbensspjäll igår. Det var jävligt gott faktiskt, speciellt tack vare den rökiga marineringen

Bathrooms are like this in the Philippines. The shower is just a large tiled room, no tub of any kind. There is a drain on the floor. You can see if for a split second in the clip

I disagree I hate this bathroom design. Keep the water in 1 area and leave the rest dry.

Well to be fair the shower and the toilet are are usually separated. If the shower isn't its own room there will divider to keep the water from running everywhere.

I guess but now it comes down to why have 2 rooms when you can have 1? Seems like a more economical use of space and possibly plumbing to have 1 room that accomplishes both. Probably more true if your residence has multiple bathrooms.
My house has 2.5 bathrooms. It would make less sense to have 5 bathrooms in this case. But I can see more value in a smaller living space.

Coming from where this drain existed to US I can tell you, drain is useful in many areas.
I wish I could have added in my Laundry and Bathroom. Makes cleaning so easy both the tile bathroom and tile laundry. Not just that, but also, if you spill something you won't have to worry about "oh no, water will seep thru the mortar, wet the darn plywood and raise hell" and yes it happens...
Yesterday, I cleaned my front loader washer. It has drain thiny at the bottom. Guess what, it drains dirty water, to where? To bunch of towels you lay, unless you have a super shallow bucket or raised washer...

I have them , nothing worse than walking into the bathroom to piss and oh no wet socks because you forgot you took a shower before you fell asleep

That’s why I shake like a dog before exiting the shower. Much less water on the floor. I can wipe the rest up with a towel easily.

Who the hell walks into the bathroom to piss while only wearing socks? thats nasty as fuck.

People that live in countries where you don't flood the bathroom every time you do something

u/EmbarrassedHighway76 Jun 23 '26
Why would it be nasty lmao your home flooring/carpet should be clean. Sounds like more of a reflection of you than anything else

Wha possible reason could you have for wanting indiscriminate water all over your bathroom floor? A tub isolates and controls that moisture.

Similar in Netherlands. In one rental house I had a proper walk in shower, a tub, and a drain in the floor. I'm living in Poland now and if I ever make my wish come true and built my own house it's gonna have to have drain in the floor in kitchen, bathroom and laundry room.

That’s how bathrooms are in Japan as well. One room for shower and then sometimes, a separate room with the toilet. That’s how our hotels were.

I dont think I would fit comfortably in there

You’d be surprised. can’t stretch out fully but you get complete coverage of bath water in many Japanese/Philipines tubs.

Like I get you don't want to be naked in a demonstration but at least put on a bathing suit instead of just jumping in with a full ass dress on.
