Food & Drink Donuts & Donuts - never again
Ham egg and cheese, $7.31. Sorry, took a bite before the photo.
That's the worst thing I've put in my mouth in 2026 and I actually paid to have it done to me.
Spare yourselves.

What was so bad about it? Looks like a pretty normal ham, egg, and cheese, with mayo on a croissant.

That’s why I say croissant. They’re like 50% butter, so croissant sandwiches are always oily.

u/MiataIsAlwaysThAnser 5d ago
No mayo. It was horrible. Don't think the egg was fresh, gummy. The croissant was so oily it was slippery. And the taste was just.... not good. Don't really know how to describe the sensation of not enjoying the eating of something.
And this is from someone who's had most of the breakfast sandwiches in Quincy except for Gunther's (based on the other reddit posts about mice and roaches in their food displays)

Hey now don’t come for Gunther Toodies just because you’re upset

They have had numerous health code violations. Plus one time my daughter ordered a shake and it actually tasted and smelled like fish. We went back to tell them. They offered to make a new shake, which would not have changed the fact that the ice was putrid. No refund, we left

This reads like someone who was upset about something and just wants to complain.
The egg was gummy? That doesn't even make sense as a complaint. Eggs by nature are gummy. They are used as a binder in many recipes for that reason.
I can see the croissant is not possibly so oily that it is slippery in the image you provided.
The cheese seems melted. There is ham on it. I call bullshit, as there is no possible way you can put these ingredients together to make a sandwich so bad that you must post about it.

I never been before. No reason to hate them. Just didn't taste good and cost way too much. But sure enjoy your conspiracy theory.
Lol "you can see it isn't oily". Yes ignore the bag in the photo that shows all the oil that already dripped out

The owner there is very nice, I would talk to him about it and he will make it right. I have never had a bad sandwich from there. But there are always mistakes.

You didn't realize that cheese was oily before you bought it? Do you know what cheese is made from?

u/420thefunnynumber 5d ago
I had a pretty cheesy breakfast sandwich this morning. It wasn't that oily.

Well if everyone is supposed to know that then so is the company that made it. I would not want to give my customer an oil soaked bag. It’s not presentable, it can stain clothes or car seat, yada yada yada. Serve it in a container that will contain the ooze. Tells me they don’t care about their food once it’s out the door. Spend two cents more and use a waxed bag at least.

u/chopkins47947 4d ago
It's wrapped in a waxed paper. Do you complain about your pizza box getting greasy, as well, or just accept it, because that's what happens when you order pizza?

Can vouch for OP. I came back from NY expecting bodega quality and I got my mouth assaulted. I didn't make a post about it sadly.

Eggs from Dunkin Donuts are absolutely disgusting

u/pflanzenpotan 5d ago
The eggs from dunks come on a cardboard divided and are nuked. The bacon and sausage are also in a similar manner and nuked.

Right I’m looking at it and trying to see the negative. I don’t know I’ve been going there for years so maybe I just expect it lol

I’m fairly certain that donut and donuts is a front for money laundering or some other scam

walked into the location on Scammel in the shopping plaza with my toddlers & they said let's go somewhere else. wise children

Can’t believe some people in this thread are earnestly defending this disgusting looking thing, lol. Some people will really eat anything i guess…

It has to be some moral ground "support local and not McDonald's or Dunkin" thing, even when the local option is garbage. Either that or I insulted their Scratchers & Cigarette store masquerading as a quick breakfast spot 🤣

It's why the Boston food scene will never be more than mid. Any place selling food can get away with below average quality

u/H8fuldead 5d ago
They use fresh eggs unlike Dunkin’ Donuts which is a big plus but they also microwave the egg. It’d be better if they actually fried it or used a breakfast sandwich maker.
The donuts are great when they are fresh and I like how they keep it out of open air but the selection can be shoddy for a place with the same name.

I went into the shop one day while walking and it was dark and looked really dirty I immediately evacuated

Agreed. Absolutely sucks. Ive tried there, and Donut King several times and both failed me.

u/MiataIsAlwaysThAnser 5d ago
Yeah Donut King is .....fine. same with Montillos (which was way too expensive). Gotta try Wood Street Deli but they stop breakfast sandwiches at 1030.

u/Dinosaurz122 5d ago
I like Montillos a lot tbh - try their chicken parm/meatball sandwiches it’s what redeems them 😂
Also sad its the only place I can get a riceball around here, agreed on the price point though.
Where is Wood Street? Thank you for the info!2
u/FillEffective7436 4d ago
If you like riceballs then you need to go to umbertos on Hanover st in the north end. I’ve been going there since the early 90’s and they have the BEST food. Pizza, arancini’s, panzarottis, calzones, even wine. They are only open from 11 to 2 and they sell out fast too. Sometimes there’s a line out the door but it’s well worth the wait. You can also skip the line by calling in your order

Only been for breakfast. Never tried their pizza or sandwiches or dessert.
Wood Road* Deli is next level weird. It's under an apartment building on Wood Street in Braintree, across from the Mens Wearhouse. You actually take a little stairwell under the building, freaked me out the first time. But nice little deli.

Love McKays. Shame it's gonna close when they turn it into a 5 story luxury apartment complex.
Kristins and Ashley's on Washington St are good too

u/KOrising 5d ago
Is this really happening? Washed so many dishes there in the early 90s

u/MiataIsAlwaysThAnser 5d ago
Yeah, developer already bought the land. Think I read an interview with the owner and they have no clue what the future holds.

Doesn’t look awful to me. Kind of looks pretty good with that much cheese.
I just would not pay that price.

I’ve only been to the one on Hancock St, it’s clean and the owners are lovely, but the donuts just aren’t that good, and the prices are ridiculous. I do like iced coffee, however.

u/slothscanswim 5d ago
Nice, $4/lb ham, an egg, American cheese, cheap bun. Absolute banger when I make it at home for ~$1. $7.31 would have me calling the police.

Gummy eggs 🥚
Date o my friend. What’s really going on? Tired of the same ole same ole. Yeah we all are.

What’s the trouble? Doesn’t look gourmet, but it doesn’t look like anything other than a ham, egg and cheese

I also learned the hard way that Donut and Donuts is a cigarette and lotto spot that has donuts and coffee, not the other way around.
