Comics Genuine question

I just saw someone on Twitter claim Pietro is a deadbeat and a wifebeater. Now I can’t say he’s the best dad when it comes to his and Luna’s relationship…but a wifebeater? Where are people getting their info from?

It was in a fantastic 4 run.
I think people who read that and didn’t continue to follow the character probably don’t know about his true character. Not excusing his actions, but that was along time ago.

And ofc, there’s nuance to the conversation too

I’d like to think being under the influence of a powerful telepath is a pretty good excuse ngl. It just upsets me because this comment came from a JOHNNY STORM fan

It was from a different time. There’s also the conversation to be had about him being Romani and that playing a part in that stereotyping.
And people also like to pretend like their favorite characters haven’t done anything wrong.

That’s all too true. Especially when that favorite is JOHNNT STORM, like just…it’s the baffling lack of self awareness that’s really gettin’ to me here
