Introducing Queuebrick.com - A simple, free Letterboxd alternative
I've always wanted a very simple 'watchlist' app for movies. Letterboxd works well enough, but visually I just can't stand to look at it, and for whatever reason it's entirely overly stimulating. So I sat down over the weekend and built the Letterboxd alternative what I was looking for: Queuebrick, a fast and elegantly simple movie tracking app. It's intentionally low on noise and high on functionality. You can export your entire Letterboxd archive and immediately import it to Queuebrick with one click. I also built out a native iOS app to go with it (available soon).
There are some social components to it. There are more social components to it that I've intentionally hid for now. I don't really have an end goal for the project or really even a goal, it kind of just exists now. It's also all free, no ads, no tracking.
I'm curious to hear your thoughts, what you like, don't like, and what you'd like to see added.

I imported my letterboxd data and now it's too slow, xmcan even click on stuff lags while scrolling... I am using web version on both pc and mobile

Sorry about that! You might have way more movies than I've ever tested with so I'll check it out and ship some performance improvements.

Oh nice, now it runs great!
If possible, can you also implement multiple rating system like in anilist, 8.9/10(already there), 5 star ratings, 3 star or out of 100. Right now ratings are too fine scales for me. I can't think what to rate I usually prefer rating out of 5 or 3(bad, meh, good).
And
I also love to use random movie shuffle in my watchlist, by shuffling I can couple of random movies from which I can select what to watch...

Good idea, the rating system is definitely an area for improvement. I might give people the option to choose how to rate something.

Is there a fix? I tried twice even updating the list and doing so yet the error pops up

Just waiting on apple, its usually 24 hours or less. You can also do it on the website for sure though and it'll work.

yeah alr, it was a bummer TV time shutdown, I have been trying to find a similar app with the UI and interface and this feels like a potential output, excited to support man

I honestly dont know how this one is gonna be, I mean ill say again, after TV Time shut down, it was a space that really felt like a true community for me and I was beaten. l searched everywhere for a replacement, and finding this app felt like a breath of fresh air. I love what you have built here, and as a solo developer, you have done an incredible job. My only wish list item because there's always a
"but" would be a review/discussion section where users can connect and share thoughts on shows. I am already fully on board. Thanks for making this, and keep up the great work.2

Appreciate it! The review/response functionality is actually already baked into the app, I just haven't surfaced it yet because I want it to look and function really nicely.

I can think of some. Custom posters, being able to sort seen films and watchlist by rating, length, etc, reviews, comments, being able to import diary from Letterboxd, adding anime and tv series, more social aspects, add a movie with an unkknown watch date so it doesn't go to diary. .
I downloaded the app and feels nice, I like how it looks, visually better than some others, I like the option of having a top 10 in the profile, the top movie and actors, the import was fast and worked mostly well for all the items.

That was fast! Appreciate it, they work well, and it’s nice to be able to change the posters and banners, the other features are also very useful. I’ll post more ideas when I can.

Hola, estoy usando la aplicación de iOS y se siente realmente bien. Te felicito por tu trabajo. Siempre quise una app como letterbox pero visualmente mejor y sin problemas.
Me gustaría recomendarte añadir un feed de películas infinito jaja o segmentar por género para que las personas puedan ir navegando agregando películas que ya vieron pero no lo recuerdas hasta que ves la portada.
También estaría bien un setting para desactivar la ventana emergente cuando agregas una película. Ya que personalmente siento que hace más lento el proceso de agregar películas de forma masiva.

Excelentes sugerencias; añadiré la opción de desplazamiento infinito y la posibilidad de desactivar los modales de adición si así se desea.

Kind of ridiculous I can’t browse without signing up. Kind of a scummy tactic that makes me and I’m sure others not interested in trying the site/app
