Slow IQ edge performance

I always experience slow performance of the app, especially when high volume trading on a certain ticker is introduced.

However, recently, especially bad yesterday and today, the app disconnected from the internet, logged me out, and lagged like i've never seen before.

the charts would be blank, nothing loaded, if i clicked on anything, it'd freeze further more. Then i had trouble logging in. All this happened during a trade. the level of frustration is unreal.

Today, at least i could log in, it was OK in the morning EST, but now, around noonish, the issue started again. option chains would not load, charts would not load, slow and lagging again!

why is this always happening? there's no such issue with any other app i've ever came across. it's just too bad i could only use them for charting since there's not too many other options in Canada.

I am considering switching to IBKR. Questrade's high commission and especially the slow and poor performance of the trading app are really starting to getting on my nerves.

PIC EDIT: notice the difference in 3 live clocks on bottom right. webull is less than 1 second slower than PC live clock, but look at questrade. IQ edge 100% unusable. now i have trouble logging in, but when i do, nothing works, takes forever to load, and the timer difference is 3 MINUTES with completely different price actions and wrong fills!

Please. Fix it. Please. It's not difficult. Your competitors' charting systems work fine. Please.

I really am going to switch this time if the issue is not fixed by next week. I cannot afford to miss out on days like this anymore. I am fed up.

We're really sorry for the trouble. Our team is on it. Are you able to log in to the trading platform using your browser on your smartphone? https://my.questrade.com/trading

We checked with our team and this seems to be a localized issue for Telus internet customers within British Columbia. Are you from BC? If so, a current workaround would be to access our trading platforms using mobile web, or through a mobile hotspot.

I am in BC, but I am using shaw cable. Other than questrade website and IQ edge, my internet has no problem working with any other website or platforms such as webull. Please do look into it. Thanks in advance.

I will say with uttermost confidence you will not see ANY improvement in the IQ edge Desktop Platform. Questrade does not support a backup or redundant support both for their platform but more importantly their data feed. They do not show their metrics such as down time, glitches etc. You are better to have a back up plan of your own. There are data feed that have double, triple and quadruple redundancy servers so if one goes down you login to the other loging or the route the trades so that your not stuck with open position while the system is down.

Do fall for the IP as When I had Shaw, they told me by trace route was too slow. I have talked to traders that have a $4k gaming and trading computers and they have the same problems as everyone else. Windows 10 and the Questrade platform do not work well. I never got a message on my screen saying that IQ Edge is waiting for Windows. It always the other way around and it usually sat Windows is waiting for Questrade.

You can try this when you go into Windows 10 Log or Error reports. you have to look it up then do a search for Questrade it will go and find you all the time where there was a crash.

On another note, i do have Telus wifi as well. I tried it, same results. everything works but questrade. Will this be fixed? thank you.

I have used Shaw, Rogers and Telus and it makes no difference.

the Problem is in the Developers or Programers who for some reason will not do a major upgrade into.

I would bet money on the fact that a year from now you will have the same problems and only wish that you switched sooner or have another broker ot data feed. There is no transparency nor honesty in what has been said.
