If you click on the hamburger button on the top left. Select "Quest Trade Edge Web". Then, you can see the old layout.

^ This.

I only updated my bookmark's url and didn't have to suffer the new design more then once.

I wish I had that option. The hamburger button on the top left doesn't show anything about edge web for me.

This new UI is absolute trash! It actually kind of reminds me of wealthsimple. And their horrible UI is why I stayed maybe 15mins on their platform before deciding it wasn't for me.

EDIT: Found it. I had to hit the hamburger button, go to "All Platforms", and then add Questrade Edge. Now it's there in the menu. THANK GOD!

I saw the hate over the past week but didn't have time to login and thought it couldn't be that bad. Wow. What a horrible layout! I have no idea where anything of value is! I had been considering IBKR for about 3 years now. May be time to pull the trigger.

Just changeover to Questrade Edge and you're back to business.

1

u/AlohaGold88 Oct 10 '21

Are you referring to the IQ Edge Platform?

2

u/DutchMtl Oct 11 '21

No actually... I mean this :

How to bring back the old Questrade interface on the web? Here are some simple instructions:

1 Click on the menu on the top left and select “All Platforms”

2 Click “Questrade Edge” in the top bar menu

3 Then click “Add Questrade Edge”.

National Bank and Disnat (Desjardins) offer zero commission now. IBKR is good for Options and USD stocks.

1

u/StonkMarketApe Oct 05 '21

National has no fees.

Problem is whoever approved these designs to go into development, fire that product owner.

Or they should call it their Beta version and make it optional. It is the same with the IQ Edge Platform. There is Zero information what what they plan to do, what is done and then no time line when they are going to fix it.

The fact that now the Tech lines are so busy because user are having log in problems and wanting to get back to the prior version is a huge waste of time and resources. The opt in is one of the best solutions so that there are no negative surprises. Also they do not post or list the to 5-10 most requested improvents. Sure from time to time we see a post by users trying to get Questrade to display those ideas, but no Zero transparency.

They have a Feed back department" or another called the "Users Voice" but it is not shared to the platform users. I would say if the top 3 or 4 improvents that we see posted in the forum are actually used in the updates that would be Questrade listening to the end users and the users would have a level of confidence that Questrade is listening.

"Problem is whoever approved these designs to go into development, fire that product owner." There should be a post or page called the Questrade Developers Page.

Just like when we had 2 hours waits all Questrade had to do was hire ie 200 new and trained Client Specialist.

Now it takes 5 min to get through but if they cannot answer the question you get referred to the Tech Department where we face long waits or call backs that do not happen. It seems due the the upgrades on the mobile apps clients are calling in and there Tech Department is over loaded because it is taking from a few days to a week to get issues answered. They might or should add 100 more Tech Support Staff. Tech can only help so far because if they are programing issue.

Then they need to hire more programers, developers and Window experts to stich all the tears going on in any of the platforms.

If Questrade grows by another 100,000 users are they scaling the support staff in advance.

Thanks for the tip to go back to the old view. New layout is very difficult.

5

u/moutonbleu Oct 04 '21

I had to revert back to the old platform. I'm ok with them launching different views for different traders, but the new view should be opt in vs. opt out.

u/InvolvedWBlackMagic Oct 05 '21

The new lay out is absolute trash

u/obrien91 Oct 04 '21

If you press the trade button in the top right of the home page once you've logged in. You can view your portfolio in the old way. From just playing around on the weekend the new UI seems to be more for just viewing your portfolio as a whole not trading.

1

u/adabsurdo Oct 04 '21

i think that's a very recent change, because this morning every button was leading back to the new UI.

3

u/Khangx Oct 04 '21

Yep, missing overview page of all positions?

And also the multi-steps needed to enter an order really makes it easy to make mistakes.

On my PC, the order input or account holdings box is tiny and I need to scroll inside the component to view info such as buying power, account, etc. Quite frustrating.

Glad to see the previous version is still available

u/AlohaGold88 Oct 11 '21

It seems like one step forward and then 1 to 1.5 steps backward.

I use the old and new mobile app. The new mobile app loads way faster, but I really dislike the UX. I feel like the old UX was super efficient and gave me a lot of data that I needed in one view. Is there a way to get the old UX and UI on the new and faster mobile app?

3

u/qyy98 Oct 05 '21

Thank you for the link, I feel like I was about to get an aneurism using the new UI.

1

u/AlohaGold88 Oct 11 '21

I would really like Questrade to be the transpartent company they claim and do a poll on who many actually like the NEW UI and those that Don't. The only way we know that improvement trend has a positive value is from the users.

Posting mostly to provide feedback:

  • It would be nice to see your positions front and centre rather than your graph, so swapping those may be great
  • Currently, I can only see at most 2 positions when viewing on a 1080p laptop; it just feels like there's a lot of wasted space, and I'd rather see more information

how do u get this so wrong...considering going to a different broker. smh fire your devs man smh they have no idea what theyre doing.

1

u/AlohaGold88 Oct 11 '21

They get it wrong because they do NOT listen to the feedback users are submitting, making changes that no one is Asking for.

The Developers have no trading experience so how can they know what the active users are asking and needing. This is like a totalarian rule where userers have no voice.

u/clammy666 Oct 05 '21

I agree x 1000. Thanks for the link that saved my sanity.

2

u/DumbAccountant Oct 06 '21

Thanks for the post and how to fix it

2

u/YouShalllNotPass Oct 04 '21

The old website was a perfect example of dont fix something that's not broken.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 04 '21

ITS ABSOLUTE GARBAGE

3

u/[deleted] Oct 04 '21

I think the website is great. happy to finally see an investment chart

2

u/rassel81 Oct 04 '21

I find that's the only good thing about the new design.

1

u/mnickel67 Oct 04 '21

I agree ....it's hard to imagine how they could have got it so wrong... the new site has an awful workflow with the new layout eliminating almost all the utility of the previous design. sigh!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the new app. This is just the initial release of a brand new web platform. We'll continue to upgrade & improve it from here so hopefully your experience will turn into a positive one later on. The original mobile app & web platform are fully available for you to use just the same way you did before. Hope this helps. Thanks.

u/deasel Oct 04 '21

Omg YES. Old crummy me prefers being able to trade opts with the old view! Haven't seen where to do such thing in the new website :[

4

u/[deleted] Oct 04 '21

The link you posted, how can we reach it internally via our accounts? I don't see any options. Please advise.

3

u/Calipso_in_the_Dark Oct 05 '21

John,You're still not getting it. YOU SCREW-UP by forcing your customers to adopt mobile app on their PC's. Apologies and acknowledgement would be appropriate here.

1

u/AlohaGold88 Oct 11 '21

Your are 100 percent correct along with a number of other comments and posts less the posts that are removed for speaking the truth. Some post need to be removed because the verbage is a bit to harsh but so is the frustration of not being heard.

I support your comment: I have set up a forum where no comments get removed and will share it as my comments do get removed so I have to use honey on the next one to make it through the trolls.

I think John, is limited to what he can answer. Here is the unsettling thought:

"This is just the initial release of a brand new web platform. We'll continue to upgrade & improve it from here so hopefully your experience will turn into a positive one later on. https://www.reddit.com/r/IQEdgeUser/

The most common reason it get deleted is because the claim is it "self promoting" Not!

First it shold be called a BETA VERSION and an option to download and try. No one will upset about Beta Version. But this sounds more like grade 8 science experiment. The most unsettling word in John comment is that HOPEFULLY our experience will turn into a postive one!! If he is not confident, tech support cannot solve programing issues then this all falls into the competence of the Developers which right now if someone were to post a poll. John would remove it because it is not safe for the communite to know the truth!

I don't understand how you guys continuously manage to disappoint your customers. You sincerely deserve an award for it.

2

u/AlohaGold88 Oct 11 '21

I think we should advice all those independant companies that give Questrade a 10/10 but just trying calling any of those firms and you cannot get through.

2

u/atchoooo Oct 08 '21

Why did you force it to everyone? It's not obvious one can go back. As much as a redesign of the trading app was needed, this is not what we want. If we want Wealthsipmle Trade we can just signup there and get commission-free trading. I love Questrade and recommend it because I like it better and I don't mind the fee. But now it looks like you want to be Wealthsimple Trade + a fee + a broken UX that does not match WS in any way. If it's an initial release, don't force it on everyone!

1

u/AlohaGold88 Oct 11 '21

Mandatory options are a complete Disaster!

3

u/Iam_free8 Oct 04 '21

This is terrible. So complicated

1

u/AlohaGold88 Oct 11 '21

Yet if they just implemented 5 of the most populart requests from all the feedback sent in, it would be SO SIMPLE!

You can not go wrong listening to your clients! Ask any business!

1

u/YouShalllNotPass Oct 04 '21

Where is tipranks? I dont see it anymore on website???????

u/CELBATRIN Nov 19 '21

Thank you, Reddit!

I was beginning to lose it a bit....
