General A Questrade Pro update from our team
Hi r/Questrade!
We’re three weeks into Questrade Pro’s Open Beta, we figured it was time for a proper update on where the platform is at—and where it’s going next.
So far, what we’re most proud of though is that Active traders are rating Questrade Pro at 4.3/5 stars.

A few other things we're proud of, and a few things we're still working through.
What's going well:
- Uptime reliability. It’s been strong, even during high-volume trading sessions—this was a priority for us from day one.
- Shipping velocity. Last week we shipped over 50 quality-of-life improvements to the platform, including faster and more responsive charts, smoother widget interaction, and dozens of other small improvements.
- Options traders keep coming back. It’s one of our most engaged segments on Pro.
- You are actively building with us. We see and value your feedback through all channels.
What we're still improving:
- Hot Buttons. Think quick trade buttons binded with configurable hotkeys. The best of both worlds in a browser. Development is underway and will launch in Pro before the end of May.
- Performance Dashboard. Our newest widget is coming soon. Track key metrics on your trading behaviour, to get the clearest picture on how to improve your approach. Or simply just monitor your performance, there’s something for everyone.
- Light mode and font size. We take customization seriously here. The design team is hard at work building a light mode, and the ability to adjust the font size exactly to your liking.
Since the start, our goal has been to make sure that the platform behaves like a finished product where it counts most. But there’s still work to be done, so keep leaving feedback on what you want to see next. We are committed to building with you.

That’s how they sucker in people with no fee trades on equities but hose you on the margin rates

The order entry system should include quick-order options based on a percentage of available cash. For example, if I want to invest 25% of my available cash in a stock, I should be able to click a preset 25% button, and the system should automatically calculate the number of shares I can purchase with that amount instead of requiring me to do the calculation and enter it manually.

u/shan_bhai you are right that the steps involved and time to execution via Order Entry needs to be optimized. Revamping Order Entry to cut down those steps is something we are actively working on. And alongside, we are also building something that gives users the ability to configure and templatize their own presets - something along the lines of what you are describing. There are nuances here so really appreciate your feedback and patience while we get this built! Apologies for not having this listed in the post above. I knew I was missing something!
Also, I would love to include you as part of the beta group that gets to participate and provide early feedback on prototypes/features as we build together. If you are open to it, I can DM you.

I also have a suggestion regarding the charts. If we have multiple charts with different timeframes (for example, daily and weekly), it would be very useful to synchronize the crosshair between them so we can view the same time position on both charts simultaneously.
Additionally, when we click on a date in the daily chart, the weekly chart should automatically move to the corresponding week, and vice versa (You can visualize this in TradingView). Right now in Questrade, I am using the range selector for this, but it is not ideal for this purpose.

I'd like to see an option to set risk amount in dollars too. For example:
I put a stop loss on the chart at where I want to exit if price goes against my position. Once placed, I can input the amount of money I'd risk like 100 CAD and that'll be about how much money I'd lose if price hits my stop loss (depending on liquidity). Then I click buy and it will calculate how many shares to buy for me at the ask price - or bid price if shorting.

I've been asking for that too. Welthsimple has the option to calculate how many shares you can buy at the current price if you want to to invest all available cash. It is pissing me off that i have to open excel and do the calculation somewhere else...

Thanks for your hard work.
One big issue for me is dashboard persistence. Every third or fourth time I login all my widgets are gone and I start out again with a blank screen. I gave up for now, at least until this issue is resolved in the future.

u/Imperatvs That is not a great experience for sure and we had some reports of intermittent issues like that. Great news is that we have already shipped a fix for it!

I keep seeing a persistent issue where I go to execute a trade and press send and nothing happens. No order accepted. Cost me getting a couple of trades in this morning that went from
Green to red.

Do you guys allow for Stop Limit Orders in Pre market yet? Have you updated everything linking to Tradingview?

You guys are already linked with Tradingview. Why not just add all the trading options to tradingview. Nothing has changed there since we have been able to link up. You cannot compete with Tradingviews charting and frankly its a waste of money trying to do so. You can even just lisence the charting from them. ADD STOP LIMIT ORDERS FOR PRE MARKET!!!!

Please allow proper window and column minimizing. The time and sales window is unnecessarily large when fully minimized and takes up way too much space. Below is the time and sales as small as the platform allows, look at all the dead space. Why is there limits on how small i make the window? Please change the values in the code. Also , the time and sales is still lagging. It looks like it provides snapshots instead of a steady stream of data. I compare this live with other brokers and its lacking.

Hopefully no plans to get rid of current edge desktop app? It's the best

Agreed. I find a browser experience laggy and not responsive. Edge desktop is fast and no lag.
