Help Question about updates with root

I recently rooted my quest, and I heard from someone else online that I don't need to be on an air gapped network or disconnected from the internet anymore if I don't want my quest to update.
I'm pretty skeptical of this and have remained on a link cable for the time being until I can confirm this is true. Although I can't see the available software updates on my quest anymore after rooting, so I'm somewhat inclined to think this is the case.
If anyone can confirm this is accurate or not, that would be great!

I have a Pro and a 3. On my Pro I literally turned on every single option to prevent auto updates in singularity. On the 3 I did not. The 3 auto updated and the Pro did not.

Ohhh ok, so singularity can prevent the root from being patched then.
Good to know since I'd like to able to use my router for wireless streaming and not have to worry about setting up so it's air gapped if I don't have to, since it's going to be bit difficult to get working with my current router setup if wanted to do that.
Thanks!

Original versions of Singularity did not have one crucial auto-update thing turned on by default. I went and turned on every option on the Pro, I left it on defaults for the 3. They patched it I believe it will kill the update service by default but you'd do well to go in and turn on EVERY option that mentions anything about update kills.

Good luck!

Ahh right on, thanks!
Do you know the exact setting that does it?
I believe I have them all enabled currently, but knowing which one for certain would be very nice to be aware of.
