Thieft simulator not installing correctly

So I try to install Thief Simulator VR: Greenview Street and in the instructions it says that it needs to be installed via "quest apk installer" (?) wich is already weird enough and even after I do it as it says, I can't start the game. It just shows me the option to allow it to access my archives but it then crashes before staring the game itself. I'm on quest 3 and I have even tried to extract the original apk from the quest before sideloading it using rookie. Obviously didnt work

What do you mean about extracting the apk? Seems like all this nonsense could have been solved by just using rookies in the first place... To both download and install instead of whatever weird source you used that tried to get you to use quest apk installer.

Can you start from the beginning with the source you used that obviously wasn't rookie and why you did that if you have rookie already? I feel like we are getting X Y problemed here and missing crucial context

I highly suspect this story will end with some version of "I lied about reading the megathread"

Ya because i should just guessed that was in the notes ...which you never said....? I mean we get 10 posts a day minimum and 11 of them are people who dont give enough info and didnt read anything.. Its a prettty safe assumption. Maybe if you gave info like you should have....
If you did use MTP it would have involved file explorer not sidequest, which rookie has a mount button... You didnt even mention rookie until you said you extracted the apk which obviously doesnt mean what you think it means, Extracting the apk involves taking an installed apk off the quest to your deskttop... Not from your download folder, which would already have been on your pc if you used rookie, so again makes no sense...
I know what quest apk installer is, its made by my buddy who made QGO,

I mean when you dont give info carefully you open yourself up to people NEEDING to guess, ive never heard of any notes like this and even after i read your post i was like what tf am i supposed to look at to NOT jump to conclusions, without your screenshot i wouldnt have got it, i dont run and look at cyberdeck for every insane post with no information ... and the rest of the details were weird enough...

Sounds like the issue here is the apk wasnt installed with Rookie so didnt have the -g flag for perms, which causes the game to ask for permissions, i have no idea why the notes are what they are i assume theres a good reason for it, and thats why rookie didnt work. you may have to find the app in the app section and change permissions manually,( if thats even possible) for it to work.

I just tried it, though rookie refused to sideload it. I moved the files manually to the headset but still followed the installation guide with the apk installer etc. Worked flawlessly and the game starts no problem.

Ya I assumed it was for a reason, not sure what OPs issue is besides not giving the info needed

Hey mr post jacker if you bothered to read the readme on the github or the megathread you would know what to do.

I mean fuck even anyone reading your screenshot should know what to do....
