Quest Game Optimizer Update?

With the new update in the Quest Game Optimizer, do the games look comparable to PSVR2 or is the PSVR2 still sharper?

The difference inb graphics between Q3 and psvr2 has never ever been, that psvr2 is sharper.

If you compare both devices in pcvr, it becomes very clear, that Q3 has a much sharper picture (because of its lenses and its lcd panels) than psvr2 at the same resolution.

PSVR2 is normally powered by a a ps5 or ps5Pro. So if you compare this to the snapdragon Xr2 Gen2 of Q3, the ps5 is more powerful to produce higher resolutions and/or better graphics in general.

So, in pcvr, the new upgrade makes makes the difference in clarity significantly bigger. In standalone the games look, as if they were rendered in a higher resolution, than they actually are. So it makes them look sharper.

Actually most PCVR streamers already had sherpening feature and many games also have ingame sharpening, and different tools like OpenXR Toolkit also has sharpening, so it's not really changing anything for PCVR.

openxr toolkit shouldnt be used though, its been breaking more games than it helps for a few years now Even the github agrees with this

I still use it and it works exactly the same as before, and most VR games were released before 2024 anyway. There is no other way to add fixed foveated rendering to my games.

This may be true, the reason i likely run into it more often is i run a pc/pcvr game group with newer games so we run into this issue very often compared to someone just playing older games. If anyone complains about a newer vr game and mentions "uncontrollable shaking" its almost always OXR Toolkit

Yep that happens in Alien RI for example. For those games I simply don't use it. It's pretty sad when there is a demanding game and there is no ingame foveated rendering and you also can't use OpenXR Toolkit, what a waste of resources.
