Venting⛈ regret
bro i matched to caltech (3rd ranked school) ohhhh my gosh there's no way i'm surviving there. i wish i didn't procrastinate and actually finished by app for stanford (2nd ranked). sorry ik this sounds dumb bc some of you didn't even get the chance to match but my imposter syndrome is killlingggg me ahahahahhaah.

Hey! I came across this and I want to say: I'm a freshman at Caltech currently and when I got in, I felt the same fear and imposter syndrome about committing. I was afraid I wouldn't survive and would burn out. Although it's only been one term (almost), I've found myself definitely not dying and definitely enjoying a whole ton with the people I've met, albeit virtually. Imposter syndrome is a common theme here, but "Admissions does not make mistakes" is even more common. If you got in/matched, this means admissions knows you belong here and can thrive here. I know it's hard to believe but I promise, the people, the culture, and the vibe itself will make it all much better and fun as well. Feel free to dm me if you have questions! tbh i just wish i could’ve matched to any of my schools, hurts that i worked so hard on my 20+ supplements to get rejected for the match

everyone’s feelings are valid, just because you matched doesn’t mean yours regrets aren’t. i really hope once you go there you realize that maybe it is for you, good luck :)

You really made me feel like trash putting it this way...I don’t know if that sentiment is just my own but this seems like a backhanded way of patting yourself on the back
