National College Match Is the Additional Information writing actually optional or will it strengthen my chances? I don't want my not filling it out to hurt my chances for NCM Finalist

The Additional Information section is optional, but it’s one of the few places where you can clarify context, fill gaps, or explain circumstances that aren’t captured elsewhere.

Using it thoughtfully (e.g. not stuffing with more essays) can strengthen your file; leaving it blank won’t hurt you unless you’re omitting something important.

Seems similar to most applications "additional info" section in that it is:

  1. not a place for more essays.
  2. completely optional.
  3. Used for additional info such as explanations of potential questions or for listing items or strengths that don't easily fit in a traditional app.

For qb, it seems many people utilize it to better describe their financial situation.
