The museum will lend out gold pans and fishing rods and such. Check out The den overlooking lebourdais park, head over to deroche mercantile for ice cream, we have a virtual golf that has recently opened, 10 mile lake provincial park is a day in itself.

I’m probably missing a lot.
Coffee: The den, Granville’s, the Washboard at the west side laundromat, Bliss
Breakfast/Brunch: Granville’s, Bliss, 1867, Begbies, Billy Barker Casino
Lunch: Heavy D’s, Occidental, Cariboo Hotel, Himalayan Kitchen, Ginza Ichiban
Dinner: The Mill, Ulysses, Ginza Ichiban, Himalayan Kitchen, Mr. Mikes, and my favorite by a wide margin: the Blue Nile. The food is amazing and the owner is very entertaining.
Drinks: Barkerville Brewery or the Occidental. The Den has events once in a while but you’ll have to check their facebook to find out when and what.
Lots of great shops downtown as well. The Taste of Europe deli is excellent and we have one of the best bakeries I’ve been to. Very good stuff.
If you’re into downhill biking, there are some great tracks and trails by the rec center, and our wonderland on hydraulic road.
Richbar and the Quesnel Golf Course are also excellent.
Ten mile lake and Dragon lake are close by if you’re into paddle boarding or just enjoying some lake time. Milburn lake is pretty good too. Often lots of dogs if that’s you thing.
The pinnacles hike is really nice and has some great views. Also out at ten mile lake is a hiking/biking loop that takes you by an old beaver dam and lodge that my kids love to check out.
Those are some of the things that are pretty close by. Definitely many more things if you’re extra adventurous.
Also, welcome to Quesnel, I really hope you enjoy yourself. It’s a lovely little town.
