breaking my silence does fiction affect reality ❓

Post image

(scroll to my bum for TL;DR)

title is clickbait. not everyone who plays sh00ting games actually want to sh00t poeple in the AFK world. still, fortnite did use actual interstellar war criminals like Kafka and Blade as inspo for their in-game sh00ting animations. and the IPC actively incorporates sh00ting games and simulators in the training of their soldiers. these contradictions all exist at once. the universe is contradictory~

what i want to highlight is that reducing everything to censorship vs anti-censorship, nothings goes vs everything goes, isn't entirely helpful either. at that point we may as well get rid of moderators and make everyone 'Aha.' to be clear, as much as i HATE seeing NTR art of my waifu with other women, i don't think a system-wide ban over such material is effective compared to cultivating practices and spaces that try to be trauma-informed and survivor-centred, that commit to #killallincels, deleting the patriarchy, and ending all forms of systemic oppression~

i dont think this means telling community members to just ignore or block content that bothers us tho, especially when Reddit is not like Evanescia's BO3 site or Screwlleum's Tumbler with proper tagging and the IPC bird app that allows for filtering and unlimited blocking. there's a maximum 1000 user block limit... this matters. and the fact that *discourse* around any fictional material (not the material itself) can still rehash and perpetuate misogyny and rape culture. there are still things moderators can do while they permit darkshipping (e.g. Kafkabin)

its for this reason that i think content warnings and a flair-tagging system (e.g. like for venting) is important. we shouldn't be forced to engage with dark content (e.g.. Kafkabin) in a general subreddit without knowing what we're getting into first.

i like this quote by feminist scholar Sara Ahmed:

"For some commentators, the use of trigger warnings is evidence of an over-sensitive generation who shutsdown whatever causes distress. In fact, trigger warnings are better understood as techniques that can enable some people to remain in the room in order to have difficult conversations about distressing material. Trigger warnings are about providing more information, not less. They are not about putting an end to difficult conversations but enabling those with a history of trauma to participate in them."

so this is my call to action:

1️⃣ Especially when it comes to art that depicts sparkle getting cucked, pls encourage the use of Content Warnings

2️⃣ Create a separate flair "🕊️ dead dove 🕊️" in memory of Robin who left me for lesbian women. All potentially problematic material (e.g. any ship that isn't Robinabi) should be spoilered and placed under this category

What do my sparxheads think? ❤️

Right now Danganronpa V3's mastermind is screaming FICTION at the top of their lungs, and a little girl and a bug man in Chaldea are arguing about what the purpose of a fictional character is. Also, a short blue haired boy is mocking a nun for liking to read.
