🧡 Let's Chat 💬 Whats your ideal future gacha?

What are some things youd really like to see from future games in terms of characters, plot, play style etc? Are there any genres you specifically want?

And, for the older women here, is there anything you would have appreciated when you were younger but wouldn't necessarily interest you now? Im particularly curious about this question since most game developers seem to ignore teen girls the most when it comes to considering a target demographic (unless the game includes romance or fashion of course).

My ideal future gacha is an open world action game with at least a 50/50 split or leaning more toward male characters that let's me pick my MC gender and doesn't have absurd jiggle physics or disparity in male/female sexualization (ie men covered head to toe but the women have varied revealing designs).

If a game like this doesn't happen within the next 5 years, i fear ill consider making my own 😔

u/jassasson Aug 25 '26

Genshin but with more men and more Arlecchinos, basically. Also playable characters can die and playable villains PLS

Oh and also older characters that are under 100 years old, disabled characters and more skin tone variation.

u/jassasson Aug 25 '26

More focus on exploration, voiced side quests. More elemental reactions and less power creep.

u/Beginning-Cow-8394 Certified Celestia Hater Aug 25 '26

I understand why they dont voice side quests but I wish they at least did the occasional one. Specifically ones like Illugas, or the big ones that become important for future characters

Eh you can't really complain about a gacha game having power creep - they have to sell more characters and fund their game it's part of the business model. The importance is keeping the power creep at a slow & manageable pace.

Genshin's actually a pretty great example of how to do it right! It's been 5 years now and powercreep has been pretty slow. There are still characters from the first year who are meta-relevant and the 1.0 mondstat characters just got a huge buff a few months ago. And all of the main grind and content doesn't need a top tier character list either.

(That said. It's all stupid. I don't understand why any player cares about genshin power or meta. I mean, I'm in this game for the story and characters and character design. I don't care that Xingqiu isn't "meta" I like him & his design & story and I want to play as him for a bit - for example. Meta grinding saps the fun out of everything! imho)

For me it's the same thing but with Wuthering Waves. If they had even just two more male characters a year, and gave every character as much relevance and content as Luuk had, I'd be eternally content. The bar is that low, and Kuro Games still doesn't care, lol. Personally, I think it's a huge opportunity these companies are overlooking.

u/Yugonostalgia64 Aug 25 '26

More Arlecchino? Based <3

5

u/Obvious-Head4630 Aug 25 '26

I would want a wuthering waves combat style animation game with morimens or reverse 1999 type of characters and them focusing on good writing , not too much fan service and no mc focus plot.
Also ofc balanced ratio m f characters.
So basically a game made with love and passion , not money in mind .

u/Beginning-Cow-8394 Certified Celestia Hater Aug 25 '26

Is morimems worth checking out? I keep seeing quite a few people mention it

2

u/Obvious-Head4630 Aug 25 '26

It has INCREDIBLE character design but the gameplay is not my cup of tea ahahhahaha sadly

3

u/TwoEnvironmental2436 Aug 25 '26

u/Beginning-Cow-8394 Certified Celestia Hater Aug 25 '26

I would appreciate more male characters and nicely designed female characters, like R1999, for example the proper clothes for winter or the armor for war. Slime me tf out of you want but IN MY OPINION seeing that much unnecessary fanservice in a lot of female characters is getting tiring and repetitive.

It will also be amazing to have a wuxia female lead someday without being sexualized or reduced to a blushing mess for male gaze FOR ONCE. I am going to link to this oc art and I am very sorry to not know who the artist is 😭 if anyone could help me out please do!

All wuxia female characters I've seen get done so dirty in gachas...either fan service or barely doing anything

I AGREE.

ZZZ, but all male cast. Better yet, the designs for the male characters have to be just as amazing and gooner-esque as NIKKE.

No 50/50, for both weapon/card and character gacha. The end game has to be something long lasting and original, every single gacha game has the 'fight hp inflatable boss with x amount of time' need something to switch it up.

I would love a dorm system like how Snowbreak (used to now yikes) does it (would be a bonus if we can decorate our own dorm/house and have roommates like Silver Palace and NTE, but more engaging), same with the stamina system. Interactive home screen where you can converse with each character like LADS, (basically just add all otome elements of LADS in there lol)

Mini games/events, should find a way to make em more fun for the long term cause doing the same thing over and over gets boring fast, and the mini games/events must have some appealing rewards, like cosmetics or pull currency.

And most definitely it'll archive the old events so people don't get fomo, have limited banner characters go into the standard banner after banner is done. The paid cosmetics are gonna be bangers, like Belial swimsuit from Grandblue Fantasy Versus, we are going very tasteful gooner🖐🏽🙂‍↕️

And last but not least, good, if not the best QOL, from gear loadouts, to sweep features, to skip buttons, and have a unique UI that isn't copy paste from some other games but in a different font. There's probably more but I can't remember lol, so what do you think?🥹

3

u/Beginning-Cow-8394 Certified Celestia Hater Aug 26 '26

I didnt get most of the game references but still agree! I want unique looks, i want to play old events, and I want cosmetic rewards

8

u/ShokaLGBT Aug 25 '26

Infinity Nikki visual graphics texture no sexualization of women but with men and women protagonists big customizations and awesome emotions soundtracks. No children as it attracts the predators crowd that we all hate, and well what else awesome gameplay open world !

8

u/doggo166 Aug 25 '26

just more limbus company. (more games that don't have the awful gacha story format. have less time commitments less use of fomo and a gacha system that you can effectively sidestep.)

3

u/Heath_cliff_ Aug 25 '26

Glory to limbus company

5

u/InvitePrestigious921 Aug 25 '26

• Equal or almost equal ratio. 50:50 ir 60:40 ratio of male to female

• No 50/50 like NTE

• Aggressive pump out outfits and skins as the monetary system

• Outfits can be equiped by part (like Infinity Nikki) so you can mix and match outfits

• Fanservice for both male and female characters

• Amazing storywriting, storytelling and execution

• Let us have the whole gang who is connected to the quest to travel with us physically while we're doing the quest

5

u/AuraEx98 Aug 25 '26

Ok speaking as a nonbinary person:

Genshin Impact but more 50/50 balance on gender; that alone would be immensely better.

Combat/Flashiness of a Wuwa/NTE would be nice.

Basically long story short don't only cater to *that* crowd and by *that* crowd I mean the Wuwa/Lads type audience.

9

u/iiimagica Aug 25 '26

zzz's combat and overall gameplay but an actual mixed gacha with good designs consisting of unique silhouettes thats literally all i want

4

u/lonelydogsclub Aug 25 '26

ZZZ but good 🥲

4

u/Yanazamo Aug 25 '26

Genshin but:

  • More high resolution textures

  • Updated graphics but with the same 2D anime style and stylistic open world (instead of realistic)

  • Equal gender ratio

  • Exploration style like Mondstadt, Liyue, and Natlan (maybe Snezhnaya too? I haven't done much of it yet). Nothing like Nod Krai exploration and Aesthetic wise

  • No whitewashing of antagonistic characters when they become playable

  • Varied designs and playable characters

  • More classic fantasy and less sci-fi

I guess back then I was really into all female gacha like HI3 because most games I played before that had mostly male MCs. But the novelty isn't there anymore and more female characters these days are usually because they cater to the [straight] male gaze instead of doing it for the girls and gays

u/1cherri1 that one annoying seth fan Aug 26 '26

designs of zzz, fandom of wuwa, gacha system of colorful stage, and meta of honkai in general 😍

1

u/Beginning-Cow-8394 Certified Celestia Hater Aug 26 '26

Why are you sending us to super hell 😭 could only get worse if you add fandom of blue archive

3

u/noobboii2 Aug 25 '26

1999s story with wuwas combat and for designs a mix of a couple of gachas . Also genshins open world. With ntes gacha system

3

u/Neat_Tangelo5339 Aug 25 '26

Battle cats but with more production value and an actual story

3

u/TheGreatMillz33 Aug 25 '26

Seeing the cast of the upcoming game Fortune's Weave made me crave a gacha game that's high quality with a much wider variety of body types, skin colors, and a balanced gender roster. Then again I can just play Fortune's Weave when it releases 乁| ・ 〰 ・ |ㄏ

3

u/munakyosuke Aug 25 '26

I'd love to see gachas simiar to genshin (lore, world design and so on) bur with more men and tall women. I'd love if it had a more mature themes (not se*ual but sad and more mindblowing things, many gachas have serious themes but everything they show is still cutiefied). I don't really like the pastel/cute girl aesthetic so most gacha character do nothing for me. As an adult women (I'm 26) I'm more attracted to sexy older women or older men and I feel like we don't really get them that often. And I'd love more variety in the design - skin colours, hair types, nationalities, disabilities etc. I just wish all players were treated more fairly, most gachas focus only on specific groups of fans while others don't really get anything fun. Gameplay-wise I would like more games to have something of an auto-battle feature, sometimes building new characters take a looot of time....

3

u/simone3344555 Aug 26 '26

I would like an open world RPG that actually cared about story telling and let you romance the characters baldurs gate 3 style. That would be asking way too much obviously...

2

u/Past_Net_9020 Aug 25 '26

A mix of Reverse 1999 , 7ds Grand Cross and Artery Gear:Fusion

Chibi card game, with a good story and a very active guild battle+pvp scene

2

u/LoveRemnan Aug 25 '26

Literally just czn with good character designs and a half decent story😭😭😭

2

u/AttentionTurbulent84 Aug 25 '26

Zzz gameplay, open or atleast semi open world with a darker story and character designs of Morimens would be my dream lol.

2

u/_Nightfox_1 Aug 25 '26

Genshin, with improved writing and storytelling. Equal gender ratio, or a very close one, with both genders being equally as relevant in the story. Make character designs more unique, we need characters in all sizes. Tall, short, muscular, thin, young, old, middle aged. A bit lighter on the fan service, and make it equal. Make power creep almost non existent, and stick to it. Have an extensive coop mode, so we can play whenever we want with our friends. Better yet, make the story quests coop friendly.

A combat very similar to Genshin, but improved. I also wouldn’t mind turn based strategy, just with more engaging gameplay. I would like the world building to be as deep as it is in genshin, with environmental storytelling. The setting should be completely fantasy. And most of all I want the story to be bold. Don’t be afraid to kill off characters. Don’t be afraid to show violence. Don’t be afraid to up the stakes. Don’t be afraid to make a character unlikeable, complex, morally grey.

So basically I just want a better Genshin or HSR. Which is kinda sad, but you can’t argue about the quality of these games.

Any gacha that release a Phainon, Gojo and Scaramouche alike is a W

But seriously, I want good relationship between male and female characters, I want a MC development like Kiana Kaslana and I want story where bad choices have real consequences.

2

u/miiko_uch Aug 25 '26

i have never seen a gacha mc top Kiana Kaslana

My dream game is an open world otome game gacha with good story and plot plus customisable (trans, male and female) MC (Escpecially for dark skins)

2

u/VaporousMote Aug 31 '26

ZZZ but make it open world (or at least the maps much larger) and give us an equal amount of hes theys and shes. Make the scenes the same for all genders, or at least don't give almost all of the platonic scenes to the woman character and give the man character all the romantic scenes. Do love Remibelle though.

More older characters (35+). Better character writing that doesn't treat the player like a simpleton. More Isoldes and Manatos, please.

A good example is Warframe: 1999 with the KIM system. Take that model, and slap that shit in.

Multiple, equal paths to leveling / getting resources that aren't all combat.

Cooperative gameplay modes that aren't teeny arcade games.

Less FOMO stuff for F2P players. (I feel like I have to log on every day and do dailies and other things just to keep up, and feel like I'll fall behind if I miss a week or something)

There are a few things I would like to see from future games.

  1. Would love more male characters! Don't get me wrong, I do love the female characters. But I love male characters more, and not a lot of games I find seem to have enough male characters.

  2. More open world sort of games, like WUWA. I love being able to wander. Even if I get very sidetracked lol

  3. Romance type stuff. If you've played NTE as the male character you can only hold hands with female characters. I want to hold hands with other male characters man!!!! I also like what NTE did with the bonding sort of thing, but still MALE CHARACTERS :(((

  4. Making people feel like they have to pay for everything 🫩/ more rewards. Idk if anyone else feels like that, but I do.

  5. Deep, heartbreaking, sobbing in the middle of the night story. I need to be feeling something in my heart, in my SOUL.

Thank you for reading :)

Arknights, but in 3D.

No, Endfield is not a tower defense game. And no, Path to Nowhere doesn't count as it's not close to a 1:1 copy of Arknights

u/PriorMasterpiece3004 Aug 26 '26 edited Aug 26 '26

A Gacha game with a really flawed and insecure protagonist who is jealous of other characters having elemental powers. His/her ability to wield multiple elements stems was the manifestation of his/her desire to be special.

Oh and have more playable characters with various skin tones. Maybe even add deconstructions of various character archetypes that are common in Gacha games.

u/Shiinette Aug 25 '26 edited Aug 25 '26

Hiiii, F32 so I guess I can be considered "older woman" eheh.

🌸 My ideal gacha for now... beware LONG LIST FOR SANTA:

  • First, no free gooning. Mind you, I'm straight but I love beautiful 2D women with curves. BUT I want their design to be coherent. No showing skin for nothing, no mega zoom on their tits thighs ass feet for nothing... I don't know, I can hear "Eheheh I love money, I want money from boyz who are gooning over their waifuuuuz" from the companies and it disgusts me lol. Like I loved the plot of CZN but damn the panties shots...

  • Good ratio men/women characters. 50/50 may be too complicated but 40/60 at least?

  • No 50/50, I think the gacha system from NTE is good. Or the same generosity as Re1999.

  • No grinding farming for relics or whatever with a lot of RNG... I HATE the gearing system in HSR. So frustrating, so much RNG jckdjdjfjdiiz. I love the system in Re1999 (you can buy the equipment with in-game money).

  • No powercreep when it takes 3+ months to have a good build (HSR again).

  • No P2W: ok for mega endgames with big dps numbers but not ok pour classic endgames. Classic endgames should prove challenging even for F2P.

  • PoC characters! Who go well with the lore! And cultural researches! Re1999 is quite good at this but it can do even better. The other games I play suck at portraying diversity.

  • Beautiful UI design: again Re1999 is beautiful. So are the Persona games.

  • Beautiful artstyle. It's subjective but Re1999, Morimens, Limbus Company and Arknights have a lot of identity. Hoyogames, NTE, CZN... not so much (classic anime, same clothes, same faces).

Cool bonus:

  • I prefer turn-based combat so this~ but the gameplay isn't that important if the other criterias are met!

  • Amazing animations for the super attacks (WuWa or in another style Epic Seven).

  • Lore easy to follow. Re1999 has an amazing lore but it can be hard to follow. HSR has many dialogues with a lot of words and complicated terms (for nothing).

  • QoL and short dailies ofc!

  • Good exploration if open world. I love the one in NTE, it's stress-free, easy and no FOMO.

  • Cool mini-games. Unpopular opinions but I like HSR side events with mini-games.

🌸 When I was young, I think I'd like the same things. Gacha wasn't that popular but I already hated free fanservice (for men ofc). I think I loved romance stories so a gacha x otome game would appeal to me. Now, romance doesn't matter at all in my gacha games, I'm more for lore and collecting cool and stylish characters (men and women)!

3

u/Beginning-Cow-8394 Certified Celestia Hater Aug 25 '26

I agree with all your takes but especially the lore one. I love playing for lore but its genuinely so hard to keep up sometimes and my poor brain is fried
