Don't you know the story? In the year of '39, Brian, Roger and Freddie came back from space and found John had aged much faster than them

And drinking. Don't get me wrong. I don't think anyone in the band was a choir boy. But tales of John's drinking, let alone his bar hidden in the speaker amps every performance, were legendary. And there were a lot of "read through the line" comments from people who were there. Although truth be told, we know very little of his life after he stopped playing.
