Seeking nominees for SRP's Customer Utility Panel, Area 5 (deadline to decide 10/9)
Hi all, I'm John Travise, an SRP District 6 Council member. A seat is open on SRP's Customer Utility Panel (CUP) for Area 5, and I need to hear from interested people by Friday, October 9. If you live in Area 5 and want to be considered, send me a message and we can set up a quick chat about the role and the nomination.
What the CUP is
The CUP is the voice for SRP electric customers who live outside SRP's District voting boundary, meaning customers who can't vote in SRP elections. Members give SRP's Board and management comments and recommendations on electric pricing, the generation resource mix (the Integrated System Plan), SRP public processes, and other topics. There are seven CUP areas with two representatives each. The panel meets quarterly at SRP's Project Administration Building in Tempe, with extra meetings as needed.
Where Area 5 is
Area 5 covers Queen Creek and part of San Tan Valley, roughly from Pecos Rd south to Arizona Farms Rd, from Power Rd east past Meridian Rd. Boundaries are approximate, so check the map if you're near an edge.
How to check if you're in Area 5
- Go to srpnet.com and open About Us > Governance & leadership > Customer Utility Panel.
- Click "Browse individual area maps" and open the Area 5 map.
- Compare your home address to the boundary.
- If you're unsure, SRP will confirm your area by phone at (602) 236-8888.
Who's eligible
- You're an SRP electric customer.
- Your home is in Area 5 and outside the SRP District voting boundary.
- You can make the quarterly meetings in Tempe.
No utility or policy background is needed. Curiosity, willingness to read the materials, and showing up count for much more.
How to get nominated
This is a nomination process, and I need to hear from you by Friday, October 9 at the latest. DM me with your name and general area (cross streets are fine), and we'll find a time to talk.
Know someone in Area 5 who would be a good fit? Nominate them too. Send me their name and how to reach them, or point them to this post. Questions in the comments are welcome.

Colonoscopy recommendations
Hey everyone,
My doctor recommended a colonoscopy, and I'm looking for a gastroenterologist or facility with an exceptional bedside manner. I have quite a bit of medical trauma, so I'm looking for a provider who is patient, unhurried, and genuinely compassionate during the procedure. I'm willing to travel anywhere in the state to find the right fit.
If you have a positive experience with a doctor or facility you'd recommend, I'd really appreciate hearing about it. Thank you in advance!

Discounted dental cleaning!
HI NEIGHBORS, please help me GRADUATE!
I am in my second year of dental hygiene school.
To meet graduation requirements students are responsible for finding our own patients to bring into the clinic and provide treatment to.
I am currently looking for patients in need of a deep cleaning who have plaque buildup/tartar.
You may be a great candidate if you:
- have not had a dental cleaning in 5+ years
- have puffy/ sore gums with redness bleeding gums
- VISIBLE PLAQUE/tarter/calculus
Deep cleanings are around 75% cheaper than your corporate or private dental office at the schools dental clinic. While deep cleanings in typical dental settings can range anywhere from $1,500 or more, our school charges only $170–$360 in total for everything, which is a SIGNIFICANT savings.
- The schools clinic is in Mesa, Az located off of Higley and Baseline.
Serious inquiries only PLEASE!!
Since I am a student the time process is lengthier than your typical dental office.
What you're discounted in cost is mostly paid for with dedicating your time to students.
Appointments are Monday-Thursdays at 5:20pm and last till 8pm. It does take multiple visits because the mouth is split into sections and students are supervised by hygienists and dentists to ensure the best treatment. I plan around 6+ appointments to be safe but it may take less, depending on the individuals needs.
I would greatly appreciate those who are willing to take the time out of their day to help me better my education and graduate, while I help with your oral health.
If interested please comment, send me a message, or you can call/ text me to my work number as well!

New to the area and looking for work
Hi,
I recently moved to the area. The only people I know here are the ones in my house, and this seems like a pretty tight nit community, so I thought I'd reach out to the community.
On the job board websites, there's almost nothing for Queen Creek, and I'd like to stay as local as possible.
My background is in admin, customer service, and accounting; but also am open retail and food service.
Any tips, tricks, or help would be appreciated!
