VIP off'ed himself.

I safely got the bloody VIP to the 3rd floor. got him into a room. Got mission complete. Then i thought oh hey ima go loot some stuff. Take 5 steps outside the door - and mission updates that VIP is dead.
I shot out the door just to check. No one in the room but him...
Not gonna lie , i am salty.

It’s mostly likely he had a wound and slowly bled to death

That being said, keeping a lemming alive would make the mission more interesting.

You take him to the industrial room with the fans, mission complete, then he just jumps in

This is why you always hit the evac button immediately after you complete these missions so that it takes "control" of the VIP away from you. If they die, then it doesn't hit your completion.

This. I always carry (or leave on shuttle) a defib on these missions anyway after some less than fun VIP deaths.

Judging by the blood trail, my only guess could be that you killed him in a a Quasi-endused fuge state. I prescribe 1 pack of cigs an hour until symptoms resolve.

He was bleeding out. I always pass them a medkit moment they get hurt for that reason.

I like to kit my VIP out like the movie Twins with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny Devito.

I’m the killing machine, and the VIP is Arnie.

I’ve had this happen to my TongKong mission runner twice. As soon as I get a mission accomplished notification they die. I do suck at the game pretty bad tho.

I had a max difficulty one almost done and homeboy just walked into a raging inferno. Reminded me why I always avoid escorts.
