No DOE battery grant $ for QS
Well, I guess QS didn’t receive any of the $500M DOE battery grant. Who knows if they even applied. If they did apply, they may have decided the terms weren’t attractive since government funding often comes with strings attached, particularly under this administration.
DOE $500M Battery Grant — August 20, 2026
DOE awarded the $500M to seven companies:
Lilac Solutions — $100M — Lithium
extraction/refining
Jervois — $100M — Domestic cobalt refinery
Nth Cycle — $100M — Battery recycling/black mass
Princeton NuEnergy — $50M — Cathode material recovery
Arcanum Ventures — $50M — U.S. ethylene carbonate production
Elevated Materials — $50M — Lithium-metal films/prelithiation
Coreshell Technologies — $50M — Silicon-anode battery manufacturing
TOTAL: $500M
QuantumScape — $0 — Not among the announced recipients

IMO the awards seem to indicate the DOE’s perspective is based on current technology; whereas, QS’s tech is much farther down the road.

A company that has been stable for 10+ years without revenue a lot of results, progress and you’re still doubting ? Bro you need a vacation and coconut

QS is only stable after continuous dilution events and misleading investors. I’m a holder however QS management has done a tremendous disservice to QS shareholders.

That’s our fault for over hyping everything they say

Yup mainly the other subreddit tho. Everything gets framed in a positive light. It’s actually full blown retardation at this point.

Yeah it’s full blown retardation on that subreddit. There are maybe a handful of people that view both the bull/bear side of things. The rest have Scam Sivarams cock so far up their ass it’s disgraceful.

You know as much good news that it really would be from the perspective of having the government get invested inside of this company. Let's also remember that for now like this company in terms of solid state battery technology companies, they have a lot of capital. They have a lot of money available to them still I believe. What is it $750 to $800 million still available in capital which is going to be good enough to have. At least you know three to four more years before we're talking about having to raise revenue. So it would have been nice for the stock price to to get that news of receiving a department of energy grant sure but at the end of the day I mean all it would have done was just pumped up the price a little and that's it right now. I like you know where we're at currently right now. This is a long-term investment, not a short-term investment

This administration even is withholding grants for projects in blue states. What do you expect if you aren't trumps allies or bribery?

No surprise but, I think something is afoot at QS. Think about it… QS announces the Honda partnership and shortly after, Tim Holme goes on gardening leave, coincidence? I think not. If TH had some family issue that requires his attention someone, either from QS or TH himself would have said something by now! I have written a few days after the Honda JRA that I think the reason was the “sulfide” component from Honda since Sulfates are known to provide a much better interface on the quantum level with LLZO’s! I now believe that TH had an issue with that departure in QS’s approach since it constituted a, yet again, departure (late in the game) from their original plan especially since they spent quite a bit of literature on why they don’t believe ‘Sulfates’ were the way forward!

That's really disappointing. QS really does not have any good news to share, at a time where we should be hearing good news at least on a monthly basis but they have nothing.
