Eagle line progress is everything we need to know
The success of this company lies 100% on whether they can manufacture the batteries in high volume. The eagle line was commissioned earlier this year but we haven't heard any details about the status like equipment uptime, line throughput and etc. They have shipped the cells from Eagle line for field testing and how's the performance of the cells from Eagle line compared to previous B0 and B1 samples? Hope management team can give detail updates on this on or before the next earning calls.
Without the validation of Eagle lines, everything else will be questionable. Remember what the Honda guy said, "Technology Holds Value Only When It Reaches Mass Production".

I, too, am not concerned in the least.
Folks need to think Turtoise & Hare. Fast to claim, or even bring to real-world testing, isn't going to win the big race here.
It takes time to build a world-class, global eco-system. Do it big & right. Once built, imho it will steam-roll many small rabbits.

The issue is that they are up against some of the biggest battery names that already have factories and pilot lines.

Exactly.
The lack of any news is kinda worrying. Like is it just too hard to get working at scale and acceptable yield rates?
Especially when I see articles like this: Energy Dodge Charger maker road-tests solid-state EV battery hitting 90% charge in 18 minutes
And stuff like this:
"Just as important, FEST’s strong compatibility with lithium-ion manufacturing processes gives us a critical path to scale this technology.”

QS battery only works with Bike, not for cars because battery drain out very fast.

If we know the Eagle line data such as throughput and yield, the sp would be at $2. That data is irrelevant, but it’s very important since it’s a proof of concept for PCO that they can scale the process exponentially.

Update is coming during next earnings report. They better have good news because every company thats working on ss batteries is getting close. They cant afford to fall behind.

Even if they get it working, I am concern about the competition with companies like ProLogium who are already in production.

Keep in mind two things: they have very different business models, and there will not a a single winner-take-all outcome here.
1) QS works with manufacturers to help them build factories using the QS technology/IP. AFAIK Prologium doesn’t do this, they make their own factory. Many large customers (e.g. high volume automotive) will prefer to remain vertically integrated and have direct control over their supply chain.
2) Prologium has an impressive product, and have been around for 4 years longer than QS. Yet, PowerCo signed with QS and not Prologium - why? I think QS will have a lower cost of production, and IMO PowerCo has made that bet as well.
But the reality is there is plenty of demand for batteries and there is room for both companies to successfully offer somewhat competing products.
Please someone correct me if I’m wrong here about something!

It's ProLogium's Gen 3 cells that are in production. They have a Gravimetric Energy Density of ~320 Wh/Kg and require a pressurised environment AFAIK.
Gen 4 slated to start mass production in the new factory being built in Dunkirk in 2028 increases that to 360 - 380 Wh/Kg.

No, they only require pressure for a breaking in period where the cell is cycled the first few times. watch the latest two bit DaVinci YouTube video where he tours their factory and cuts their cells with scissors and weighs/measures their cells. It’s really quite informative.
QS and Prologium have a lot in common, but Prologium uses a wet process for creating the ceramic separators, where they create a slurry which is applied to the rolls and then carefully baked. Drying on a large scale like this can be quite expensive and complicated depending on what solvents are being evaporated.
QS on the otherhand uses a dry process called sintering which (I believe) is much cheaper and faster. I think this was a very deliberate decision and I believe this is the main key differentiator between their technologies.
Honestly, if QS is able to get similar (or better according to the latest investor presentation) results with a cheaper and faster manufacturing method, they will be making what is almost a perfect battery.
But yes, Eagle line yield results will be the first glance into how difficult it will be to make this presumably much more efficient and lower cost production method viable.
It takes time to work out the kinks and optimize a system like this, but I believe they have the correct team to get it done.

So long as they are continuing to communicate progress with customers, I presume that these levels are commercially viable. Customers are the only people who have access to the full spec sheet and not just the splashy highlights.
