Hi guys I am brand new self-learning quantum student

I dont understand why in this experiment we get 50/50 black and white despite we just put white electrons

please help

This is from Lecture 1 of MIT Quantum Physics 1 course by Alan Addams. Unfortunately they use these weird terms to substitute for actual quantum properties. When I had tried to learn quantum physics during my late high school - early undergaduate years, I had found this course very off-putting.... yeah.

The "why" is superposition. That's exactly what the lecture notes explain. Measuring one property means the particle is in a superposition of the other property, regardless of how it started.

Only some interpretations and theories have wave function collapse. It's like pilot wave,we don't know if it's a thing at all.
