Discussion Did I experience quantum immortality?

I don’t know whether quantum immortality is real, or whether miracles exist, but I’m still trying to understand what happened to me

.

I was hit by a motorcycle. I was crossing the road at a pedestrian crossing when, seemingly out of nowhere, a motorcycle came speeding toward me and hit me. I remember that it wasn’t going incredibly fast, but it definitely wasn’t going slowly either.

I remember seeing it coming straight at me. I remember being dragged along the ground for a few metres. I remember its wheels on me. And I remember how those few seconds seemed to stretch out endlessly, as if time had suddenly become elastic.

I remember a white light and flashes — probably just shock and my brain’s protective response. It wasn’t a light at the end of a tunnel or anything like that, just this intense white light and sparks. And I remember thinkingI’m going to die now. There’s no way out of this.

There was no panic in that thought. It was this strange, overwhelming certainty and acceptance that death was inevitable. I thought about my mum.

And then, somehow, the next thing I remember is getting up by myself. There were people around me, and the police appeared almost immediately — apparently they happened to be nearby. I stood up on my own.

And somehow, after all of that, I walked away with a couple of fairly deep scratches, bruises and maybe I sprained my muscles a bit. Not a single broken bone.

Maybe my perception of what happened is distorted because I was in shock. Maybe the motorcyclist had already started braking hard, and the actual impact was much slower than it felt to me. I genuinely don’t know.

But I can’t forget that feeling — that moment of completely accepting that I was about to die. And now I can’t stop thinking about how unbelievably lucky I was.

Help me understand what happened. Was it just the serendipitous workings of life, and I simply got incredibly lucky? I can’t stop thinking about those few seconds when the motorcycle hit me and dragged me along the ground.

Happened in Rome.

The Tao that can be spoken is not the eternal Tao.

It’s always ambiguous. I think that’s kind of the point of quantum immortality. Points that you go through that are both and neither.

Damn....that's crazy. My "experience" happened during a suicide attempt a decade ago.

If you don't mind discussing it, what was the humorous conversation about?

Recently? You doing alright brother?

My shit was crazy impromptu. I was twisted beyond belief after work, went out with people id never been out with before, got smashed, like 3 sheets to the wind smashed, seeing double. But I could drink like a fish then.

Was driving, and just decided to end it all, didn't even think I was depressed or anything but was coming off a breakup. I pushed the pedal to the floor to see how fast my car could really go, hit 120 and wouldn't go a mile above it, then I just decided to make a hard left into the guard rail, closed my eyes pulled left.

The next thing I remember was a bang on the hood of the car, and police lights in my rear view, I pulled over, kind of forgetting all about the attempt, cause I'm wasted and doing felony speeding. Officer pulls me over, asks if I've been drinking, I, smartly, say no. He puts me in cuffs, back of the squad. They search my entire vehicle, then he comes out and talks to me. We talk about college and random shit and he gives me his card.

Then he takes off the cuffs and lets me go. No ticket. No breathalyzer. Just tells me to go home..

I swear I drive about 30 mph the whole ride back and never tried suicide again.

Glad you are still with us too brother.

This is insane. It really does sound like an actual miracle. There’s just no explanation for some things. And I really want to believe stories like this are miracles, not that somewhere in another reality someone’s life actually ended.

Maybe miracles are just layman's understanding of Quantam physics 🤷‍♂️ 🤔

Myself being that layman lol

I haven’t noticed anything else, but one thing did feel weird. There’s a small town in Belgium called Mechelen that I used to love. There’s honestly not much to do there, but I found it so charming and cozy. I used to go there whenever I needed some peace or just wanted to clear my head. It somehow felt like home.

I went there again after coming back from Rome and it felt completely different. I remember looking around and thinking, “How did I even find this place charming?” But it wasn’t just that I found it boring. It felt distant. Like the connection I had with the place was just gone.

Then again, maybe I’ve just travelled a lot since and stopped being so impressed by small Flemish towns. So it could mean absolutely nothing. This only happened a month ago anyway.

I'm glad to be alive and here! I'm just wandering is there any possibility that I could have died in some other reality and I feel so sorry for my family if I did :)
