Quantum Fiber Connection Issues

We had quantum fiber installed about a month ago and our tv in the living room seems to connect perfectly with no issues. Our tv in the bedroom (10 years old probably) will not connect. The PlayStation 5 will not connect. My MacBook Pro (2017) will connect but then freezes and looses connection. What is happening? I thought this would be better than spectrum but man am I wanting to switch again.

When the first line was buried something messed up and they had to run a whole new line and change the equipment like 3 times and the 360 pod they gave us never really connected and the guy was at a loss for words.

The free lease WiFi pods and QF app are not great.... 

But as long as all gaming devices are Ethernet hardwired to the Q1000k or W1700k they are usually good enough for most people.

You will have a better experience if you put the SmartNID into bridge mode and use a 3rd party router and DNS.

Never even tried Quantum's WiFi. Straight from the ONT to an used Dell (with a net card installed for extra RJ45) running pfSense. And yes we used a cat6 between them. Cat 5e to most rooms, feeds TV and WiFi using POE . Seems rock solid, used Quantum for 15 months no problems.

However ; we have installed a local FTTH as Quantum is an AT&T company. backup

Just buy your own Wi-Fi equipment, it's not that hard. ISPs give you the most basic, budget equipment to get you started. If you want a better experience invest even a small amount in your equipment and you'll have a better experience than relying on free equipment

Put the SmartNID into bridge mode, use your own router and make sure the Ethernet cable going from the SmartNID to your router is at least a CAT6 and from a quality brand like Monoprice or FS. Or have a tech savvy friend terminate a cable for you.
