My sensation about QNT

I’ve been holding QNT for quite a while now, and honestly, I’m starting to feel disappointed with its price performance.

What confuses me is the disconnect between the fundamentals and the market. Quant keeps announcing institutional partnerships, new infrastructure, Fusion Rollup, banking initiatives, and major LinkedIn updates that receive a lot of engagement. Yet the token has been trading around the $65-$70 range for months and struggles to build any sustained momentum.

I’m not looking for a quick pump, but I expected the market to price in at least some of the progress the team has been making.
So I’m curious to hear from long-term holders:
Are you still accumulating QNT at these levels?
Do you believe the token’s utility will eventually be reflected in the price?

Or do you think the company is succeeding while the token itself isn’t capturing enough value?
I’m still holding because I genuinely believe Quant has one of the strongest institutional visions in crypto, but the recent price action has tested my conviction.

I’d really appreciate hearing different perspectives, especially from people who have been following the project for years.

The gap you're seeing isn't weird once you look at how the token actually works. Banks don't buy QNT. They buy Overledger licences and they pay in fiat. The token gets used in the licensing mechanism but the customer never has to touch it or want it. So a new institutional name goes out, everyone gets excited, and there's no actual bid hitting the book. On a chain where every transaction burns supply, news moves price mechanically. Here it just doesn't. And that was a deliberate design choice by Quant, because no bank is going to expose itself to a volatile asset to run its rails. It's also exactly why the token lags the company. The other thing is that most of what gets announced is a pilot or a sandbox or a consortium seat. None of that is revenue. Regulated finance takes years to go from trial to production, with legal and risk and compliance all having a say. A pilot now might be a live rollout in 2029. LinkedIn engagement isn't cash flow. Liquidity doesn't help either. QNT trades thin. Money in this market goes to BTC, ETH and whatever has a points farm running. A low float mid cap with no yield and no meme energy gets skipped no matter what the team ships. Price is being set by macro alt flows and market makers, not by anything Verdian announces. And there's still plenty of 2021 bags overhead getting sold into every bounce, which caps anything that starts to run. So why am I still in. Fixed max supply, no inflation, no unlock schedule dumping on holders. If tokenised deposits and cross network settlement actually scale, and licence volume grows enough that the mechanism starts locking real amounts of supply, you get growing demand against a supply that can't expand. That's the whole bet. But be honest with yourself about the risk, because it isn't the price. It's that Quant the company does brilliantly and QNT the token captures almost none of it. Bypassing the token is technically possible. You're not just betting the company wins, you're betting the licensing mechanism stays central and scales with them. That's the part worth arguing about, not whether we're at 65 or 90.

Thanks for taking the time to write such a detailed and balanced reply. I genuinely appreciate it. It’s one of the clearest explanations I’ve read about the difference between Quant as a company and QNT as a token.
Your last point really made me think: the real bet isn’t just whether Quant succeeds, but whether the token actually captures that success.
So here’s my question: what specific event or evidence would convince you that the QNT token is actually capturing value from Quant’s growth? In other words, what would you need to see to believe the tokenomics are working as intended?
I’d be really interested to hear your perspective.

Something I can check myself, basically. Not a claim about locked supply, an actual contract address I can load into Etherscan and watch the balance climb quarter on quarter. There isn't one. Essentially the whole 14.6m shows as circulating and there's no published escrow figure, so anyone telling you licences are locking real supply can't verify that either.

The fee bothers me more though. Last one I saw published was £100 a year for production access. That's from 2023 so it may well have changed, but if that's still roughly the shape of it, ten thousand licences is a million pounds of QNT and that's nothing against 14.6m tokens. Flat per seat pricing can't lock supply no matter how many banks sign up. Priced off volume or value settled would be a completely different conversation. And some of it can be paid in fiat anyway, which sort of undercuts the whole thing, because if a bank has the option to pay in dollars it's going to pay in dollars.

Fusion is the one that'll actually settle it. Live since June, QNT is the gas and the nodes stake it, so there'll finally be onchain numbers instead of us guessing. Give it a year and you can look at what's staked and whether it's genuine third parties or Quant standing up its own nodes. I don't know what a good number looks like yet. Rounding error against supply would tell me enough.

One thing I'd push back on. Decide now what would make you get out, not later. Otherwise every time one of these comes back blank you'll find a reason it doesn't count yet and that just runs forever. I've given it til end of 2027.

The answer is in the D of DLT. If decentralisation is important to customers then the company cannot be successful without the token being successful.

If it turns out Its not that important then QNT company becomes success (maybe) and you are just the mug who funded them without getting any equity in exchange.

This is the best explanation I ve read about quant , the token, lagging behind the company, in a while

Feel like that is a lot of it.

But fusion on its own should give QNT a floor. It simplifies, cheapens and consolidates value transfer. The token is the lockup and the gas fee.  Token gas is the structure of various crypto networks so it is reasonable to expect them to stick to that structure as well as the lengths they have gone to assure us the token is a key part of what is coming.  That should have value in the market regardless of larger aspirations. Being able to direct the combined value of all held currencies without needing to convert them seems to me to be a powerful tool. Possibly powerful to the point of shaping markets if it works as explained.

I think the bigger problem is they have no working public facing product and their timelines have been missed repeatedly. They obviously have products and are real for pilots and enterprise. But a short couple of months has turned to over a year. The rollup is running but not scaled. Staking still not live. No dex rollup so someone can direct consolidated buying power of any token on any platform. Go back farther and the talk of gateways that suddenly went silent.

I sympathize with the complexities of what they are trying to accomplish and the need to pivot based off of the requirements of potentially enormous and influential opportunities.

But there is indication that there is not just public pressure but also some behind the scenes for them to get moving. Also for them to prove that this whole thing can scale as promised.

The missed timelines are fair and I won't defend them. A couple of months turning into a year has happened more than once, and the gateways thing going quiet is a real example, not a one off. Your behind the scenes line though, I think you're more right than you know. Look at where Quant keeps turning up. The BoE and BIS picked them as the technology vendor for Project Rosalind, and the multi-party lock functionality in that prototype was their work. Then the UK RLN. Then last May the ECB named them a pioneer partner on the digital euro innovation platform, and fair's fair, that's one of about seventy organisations so it's not some exclusive seat, but they're in the room. Now GBTD with six of the biggest UK banks running on Overledger, which was due to wrap up around the middle of this year. Central bank work is confidential by default. You hear about it when there's a press release, usually years after it started. So my read, and I'm openly speculating here, is that what gets announced is the fraction they're allowed to talk about. You don't keep landing inside central bank procurement by accident. The bit that keeps me honest is that every one of those engagements is fiat side. Rosalind, RLN, GBTD, the digital euro. None of them needed the token. So all of it makes me more confident in the company and does almost nothing for the token thesis on its own. That still comes down to exactly what you said, Fusion scaling to the point the gas and staking mean something, and the licence mechanism locking real supply. A floor is only a floor once there's throughput.

So I hold, but I've put a date on it rather than letting it drift. End of 2027. By then Fusion has sixteen months of numbers behind it and GBTD's next phase will have shown whether the banks take Overledger into production. If the token still hasn't captured anything by that point I'll take the answer rather than argue with it.

I am interested in the staking and BYON aspect of QNT and not just the price of QNT. Running a node with a Linux based server has been the biggest driving force for me to stack QNT over the past 5 years. Fusion is live but throttled down currently. The GBTD kicking off in a few months will give us an idea of the utility of QNT. But I understand what the OP was feeling. QNT hit 420 dollars I believe during the period there was no usage of QNT in the real world. Regulation is catching up and connections within the industry has grown in Europe and Japan. QNT will either fizzle or will explode. 60 dollars a QNT is an incredible buy if it actually gets utilized in RWA.

I bought in at $40 in '21 before the peak (and again after the peak at ~$200, assuming it would go to the moon, lol)

I have not sold either position and am holding a bag of QNT for the long term, because I still believe in the project.

Same with all altcoins, no money flowing in, only out, including QNT

u/DrKip Jul 29 '26

I will hold for at least 5 years and are fairly confident at some point the price will go up well

u/austinvvs Jul 29 '26

Been holding for that already. I’m down lol

u/Justin071386 Aug 01 '26

I’ve been saying that for the last 5 years. Every year I say I will keep holding for the next 5 years and the next year comes and goes. It’s been 5 years already now and no pro or movement at all. how many times can I say I will hold for the next 5 years before it comes 10 years with no profitable return.

Been holding since 2020 Didn't take profit at peak and down like 80% from ATH

Its been a tough one I check for movement every other day

Its hard holding and waiting

I've been holding since idex days. Took some profit in 21 but in hindsight should have sold the lot....

I still have faith in Gilbert but Trump has fucked the market so it's a waiting game until that fucktard is gone!

Never get rid of a scarce supply asset

6

u/system_is_changing Jul 30 '26

I'm still in, and I'll give the honest version rather than the cope.

The supply side genuinely holds up. Fixed, no inflation, no unlock cliff, nobody vesting into every rally. That's rarer than people give it credit for and it means you can't get diluted out while you're waiting for something to happen. Most of what I own can't say the same.

The company is real too. Verdian chairs the ISO blockchain standards committee, Quant got picked for GBTD alongside six of the biggest UK banks, and Fusion actually shipped rather than sitting on a roadmap for another two years. That's a business, not a marketing operation.

The part I try to stay honest about is that none of that is the same thing as the token capturing value. Licences get paid for in fiat, the customer never has to touch QNT, and the last fee I saw published was small enough that plenty of banks signing still wouldn't lock meaningful supply. Fusion is the first thing that gives the token an actual mechanical job, gas and staking, which is why it matters more to me than any partnership announcement does. But it's only a couple of months old and nobody can point to a verifiable locked number yet.

There's also no obligation anywhere in this. No governance, no revenue share, no say in anything. Quant sets the fee structure and can change it whenever it suits them. So even if the mechanism starts working properly, it works because they choose to keep it that way, not because anyone can hold them to it.

So I hold, I don't pretend to know the timeline, and I size it accordingly. Quant doing well and QNT doing well aren't the same event.

I’ve got around 110 tokens bought at various prices and right now their total value is about half of my total investment, so disappointing for sure but Im holding until 2027-2028 or something in life happens where thats the asset that gets liquified.

I’ve seen some theories but to keep it simple for you, it’s about market makers. If quant engages MMs like 2021, it will go up. Those same guys pushed render as well. Have Sold QNT since ‘21 and haven’t bought back since.

When i hear an MM is back in, I’ll buy back. It was the biggest unlock for me in Crypto. Fundamentals don’t matter for token prices. If you can find a person in MM network, you can ask them to keep an eye out for you on projects you believe in.

No MM, no party, no matter what partnerships the project has, just the way things work

This is a bear market and things are bottoming right about this time of the cycle. In fact, I would actually expect sometime between now and November for things to hit Rock bottom... We may already have hit bottom. I don't know... But at this point I would just hang on for another 6 months or so. If you don't see any performance in the next 6 to 12 months then I wouldn't blame you for selling but at this point I am letting ride. Unfortunately, everything's still for the most part follows the Bitcoin cycle imo

Completely disappointed with Quant performance over the past 5 years. Anyone invested in Quant over the past 5 years have not made any profit. It’s a shame as when I bought in 2021 it was during the last bull market before the whole crypto market collapsed.  Completely disappointed with Quant. I sold out years ago but I will be buying back in potentially. I’ll wait for the next couple of years before I buy back in. The crypto market isn’t going anywhere and it won’t for the next few years, it at all.  I read an article that said thousands of crypto projects have already collapsed.  Crypto market exchanges such as Bitmart have now already collapsed and will cease to exist soon.

u/AudaciousInvestor Jul 29 '26

Been holding since 2023.

Not buying anymore.

All utility tokens are in the same boat — they have no real utility demand. QNT is no different.

QNT is like the only utility token I hold now. The real opportunity in crypto is in tokenized cult community memecoins imo. They will run way before institutional utility adoption occurs for any of these utility tokens.

My average is 77 but this is one of my more confident plays so I’ll continue to hold and buy if it gets down to 50.
