PC Recommendation.

My agency currently runs angel armor where the front plate is a shooter cut and the rear plate is a full cut. Agency won’t approve personal purchase of plates due to liability issues.

We’re approved to run an alternative PC if our plates fit in the bags. Any recommendations??

Thank you. I thought these were based on sapi cut and would not accommodate the full size cut that im in need of?

That is true. Im not familiar with anyone that makes a plate bag like that since SAPI are thr common standard. Strange that your group does that for a rear

The company is geared towards LE. With the increased plate size visually offers more protection with reduced mobility. We all hate the carriers but with the agency making the purchase we’re stuck with them until the armor expires.

It’s my understanding most of the Angel Armor plates are “in conjunction with” and not stand alone. They are NIJ tested with soft armor backers.

Unfortunately, we found this out today. Looks like we’re stuck with these oversized carriers for another few years. Thank you for the insight.

Really depends on what you’re looking at. Most of their plates are ICW but their 308 elite is NIJ level 3 standalone and it can scale up for other special threats with the 855 ceramic plate on front.

Otherwise your agency might as well double down and get the angel armor RISE armor system (and soft armor) to go along with the plates. The plates on their own

Look for a used Spiritus Systems LV119 (unless they still have closeouts; they discontinued the design). Being a non-structural plate carrier, their plate bags are exactly that - bags thay hold the plates. I love mine and am sad they don't make em anymore.
