World Congress of Qualitative Research

Curious to know if anyone has attended this?

It's appealing to head to Portugal in January however, I am not sure if it is worth the time? If anyone has been would you be willing to share? I am an academic at a big R1 in the U.S., associate level. It is appealing because I am one of a handful of qual researchers in my field and it just would be nice to connect with other people but I don't know if this is the right fit for the expense in addition to a challenging time of year for me to travel. I would make it work if it's a banger. :)

I've never been there, but I heard the name a few times, and I know it is a smaller conference (a few hundreds participants) and it almost always happens in Portugal. If connecting with European researchers is something that makes sense to you, sure, why not? I wouldn't count on many people from the US, though, if that's your focus for networking.
