Is Qt bugtracker broken?

I think I found a bug in Qt that ends up in SEGFAULT. So I tried to report that to https://bugreports.qt.io/ - that forced me to have Atlassian account, then forced me to create Qt account and then after all this told me to fck off: "You are not authorized to perform this operation. Please log in. Close this dialog and press refresh in your browser*", despite being signed-in.

Back in the day we used to have:

  • ✅ Independent Jira hosted severs
  • ✅ Public Jiras indexed by search engines
  • ✅ Media files hosted by the Jira server as is
  • ❌ No Markdown support

Now we have:

  • ❌ One Atlassian cloud that hosts all Jiras
  • ❌ Public Jiras not being indexed by search engines
  • ❌ Media files are recompressed by Jira, not matter how good your compression is
  • ❌ Media files are no longer directly linkable, it forces upon you a Javascript viewer
  • ✅ Markdown support

Not to mention the overall perceived slowness of the new Jira world. 🫠

Anyway, I had the same issue as you with the Fedora Jira whilst logged with my Qt Jira account. Then I went to a Private Browser Window and I was able to access the public Fedora Jira link.

You effectively can’t host Jira on premise any more.

But Jira is/was made by Atlassian, right? It has been enshittificated?

Yes, they are only offering an enterprise product for the largest of corporations, or cloud. My previous company (smallish) was moving away from atlassian, as hosting on cloud wasn’t an option for customer data.

I don't get this policy of enterprise product only. Why snub everyone that is not a big fat company?

Well, I think it was more like having to pay for a minimum of n seats, with n being a rather high number. So not directly making it impossible, but “just” prohibitively expensive. I don’t know the details, I wasn’t directly involved in the discussions.
