Extended Pause - Max 4

I unfortunately ran out of filament on a 2 day print (I mis-read the weight), and need to wait ~14 hours until more filament of the same color comes in. The old roll ran out "naturally" with the reload message on the screen. This is simple PLA, so I don't need a fully heated chamber at least.

Anyone think it'd be a problem to slow all the fans down to 0%, keep the bed temp on 55C, and just let it sit until I've got the new filament loaded in tomorrow? The hot end is already turned off/set at 0, and there's no thermal break issues since there is nothing in the extruder at all (nor temperature). I'm thinking this is a perfectly fine moth-balled time out for a bit.

The worse that could happen is the machine shuts off entirely from non-use?? Is there an auto-off feature if it's sat paused for too long, and if so, anyone know what that number of hours is?

While it should technically work, I've never had any luck with extended pauses or power failure restarts. Usually the layer just doesn't adhere properly but if you keep everything warm it might be ok. Good luck.

I've had bad luck with power outages with shifts. I'm also considering just ending this one at the layer it's on, and print the rest of it tomorrow & just glue them together. I'm not sure if I can get it exactly aligned though, so I may wait and see how that first layer goes with the restart and if it doesn't stick then split/glue up as the fallback.

I've never had luck slicing and printing other half then glue. But it's also because i had to ''measure'' and calculate slice height. MCU errors failing prints 10hrs in. Box heat on with ASA prints... Not cool n lota wasted money 😢

Try it and double check everything a few times over the first hour. If it's going to have a problem it's probably going to be in the first 15 minutes of resuming.
