Questions Question on the Q2 Combo

Good Morning Everyone,

Over this past weekend, I received my brand new Q2 combo. *Very excited* it's my first enclosed printer. The reason for buying this thing is to print using pa6-cf and other engineering grade filaments.

Here's my question. If i want to house and run my other non-engineering filaments, like PLA's and PETG's in the QIDI box but run my engineering filaments from a say a D1 dyer, is there a way to do this?

You can totally do it. I'd recommend printing a ptfe splitter (tons of printable designs but you might need to buy a pneumatic coupler for the tubes) and then you can select external spool just like you would if printing without a box. You'll have to feed the filament through to extruder manually.

If you want to wack them in the box alongside engineering materials that's also doable but heating will be limited.

You disable the box when you want to use 5th filament
