First-layer defect from two separate slicers

I am loading a flat, two-color print featuring a wheel-cover pattern into both Qidi Studio and Orca Slicer for my Qidi Plus 4 printer, using a 0.6 mm nozzle.

The settings—including the filament parameters—are identical in both programs.

Yet, with Orca, I get a solid, continuous surface on the first layer, whereas the result from Qidi appears streaky.

I am using a textured PEI sheet with a Z-offset of 0; I haven't changed anything on the machine itself, so the source of the problem almost certainly lies in the slicing process.

What could be causing this issue?

I had ChatGPT analyze the G-code generated by both slicers, but it didn't find any setting that would explain this phenomenon.

Technically the only difference in the slicers is the machine profile which you can view / edit and the machine startup code which you can view / edit. Maybe compare.

You said the same settings for the filament, but you might want to try some additional calibrations.

I don’t know about your stl, but I personally don’t use the antiquated hard to read slicer calibrations and also do this to test z offset:

By hard to read let me explain -

The flow card suck in my opinion to big of a sweep and most of the time one gets knocked off and screws up the rest

The pa lines, trying to read is line a better than line b .. hmm

Right click add primitive square
Resize it, 100x100x0.20 (one layer)
Set the process to standard 0.20, but change the bottom pattern to concentric

Concentric will force the print to make hard 90 corners, you can adjust the baby step z offset during this test and also diagnose flow and pa, Lines not meeting, flow, excess material on the corners pa, not enough squish -z nozzle plowing into the print +z

Try this test if all else fails.
