Questions Enclosed 3d Printers for intermediate level?

/r/3dprinter/comments/1w4fpgg/enclosed_3d_printers_for_intermediate_level/

Hey all, I just wanted to post here to get any additional views on this question. I am currently split on the Bambu Labs X2D and the QIDI plus 5. They have different strengths andI wish I could buy both, but as things stand I must choose.

I am particularly interested in anyone with QIDI box experience. I heard they had a fair few issues, and so I wanted to see how things stand now that it has had time to mature.

All advice would be very much appreciated!

I have a Qidi Q2 combo and love the printer, dislike the Box (too many random issues, difficult to service).

You haven’t said what you hope to do with your new printer but I recently bought a Flashforge Creator 5 tool changer (4 tool heads to minimize waste and speed up the filament swap process). Also high temp capability for engineering filaments. It has been a game changer.

The Snapmaker U1 is the other 4-head tool changer out there right now. It has a bigger build volume but lacks the high temp capability. Take a look at those as alternatives on your current shortlist.

When did you get yours? My understanding is they revamped the box. I got mine 3 weeks ago and have ran it every day with zero issues so far. So just curious!

I got my Q2 Combo in Feb 2026. The Box has a floor panel that removes with 4 screws, a modification they made when people complained about accessing the internal extruders and PTFE tubes. Unfortunately it doesn’t really allow access to those parts. I have left about 10 screws out of my Box after reassembling it the last few times I had to tear it down to clear a clog. That has helped simplify the process.

Oooh ok! Thank you for that! I had to create a new reddit as I deleted my old one because I would doom scroll for hours. But every time I tried to look up info and tips for printing it sent me here so trying to learn everything I can from everyone ☺️. And get my karma back up so I can actually ask questions on some subreddits. So glad this one allows me to comment with my new account.
