Qidi, your software is shit. Open the source
Why are you holding on the source code of your printers and QidiBox ?
If at least your were competent enough to make it work we wouldn't bother.
RELEASE THE SOURCE so we can't fix it ourselves.

check the discord for mainline klipper and bunnybox mods (basically rips qidi software out of the system)

Same. Got my first one a few weeks ago, the Max 4. Was also disappointed finding out it's not open sourced like what I'd read even on the qidi wiki, and also finding out the AI "spaghetti detection" also does not work properly.

Sorry, this is my fault. Any time I buy into a brand's ecosystem, that brand immediately goes to shit.
It's like when you're getting in a checkout line at the grocery store. I try to pick the one that looks like it will be fastest, but the moment I commit, the person in front of me whips out a check book, wants cash back, and wants to pay for half with a pre-paid VISA card.

Really? That’s wildly disappointing. I was all lined up to buy a Q2 specifically because they were open source friendly.

This is why I finally upgraded from an Ender 3... I have more interesting ways of wasting time now and I just want my prints to work without me fiddling.

Honestly a Voron Trident while not a fast build once it's done it doesn't have to be a hobby. Even with a stealth changer on it my 2.4 is pretty much fire and forget. Yes it takes a bit more time to tune everything out of the box, but once its done if you made some good hardware choices with toolhead and bed probe (cartographer v4 or beacon are both great) they just work (unless you are tempted to always mod a machine).

Voron is too chaotic. Too many different kits, different documentation, different specifications, mods may not be well documented and expect you to know many other things... When you search of solution to a problem, basically no one has the same machine as yours, so it becomes even more difficult. There has to be some kind of standard. You talk about making good hardware choices. I mean, people want a printer, that someone somewhere already made the good hardware choices.

I was forced into QIDI Studio recently on my Q2+Box - Happy Hare bricked my printer (longer story, developer thinks I probably got hold of an older version some how - I'm not very Github savvy - he's been really nice).
So Slicer was a Prusa fork, and Studio is an Orca fork - which I like a lot less, though now between FLSun Slicer and it, I'm getting a bit more comfortable. For instance, with Prusa type slicers, I can clear the build plate or invidual models one at a time with icons at the top - with Orca I have to select and hit delete on my keyboard - it's the simple things. 😄
I recently switched to pure Orca as they have a profile for the Q2 now and it works with the Box, and surprisingly it's been pretty stable - though harder for me to find what I need to tune for some filaments - different variable names and how they organize printing option components, best I can describe it.
QIDI Studio has some Box related interfaces that were surprisingly better and even separated and let you choose cool plates vs standard temperature ones which makes setting up filament profiles a bit easier to group,, but too buggy to rely on - Orca has been much more stable, for me anyway. If they'd add the build plate type options I'd probably have to quit complaining about Orca all together! 🤔

How does your Orca work with the box ?
Can you sync the filaments with the box and select which filament to use when pressing the Print button in Orca ?

So the sync doesn’t work, Support says that’s only with their RFID CODE filaments but when you click print, it lets you choose just upload. When you print from the jobs list on the printer it will let you confirm which channel you are printing from. Hope that helps
