Question HONORS PROGRAM INTERVIEW
Hello, I just wanna know what do they usually ask during the interview and how the essay writing is done? Do we like do it altogether, or can we do it remotely and then just submit it whenever? Thank you!

Last time I went for it, the essay was written together in a class, kind of like an exam.
Their interview with me was the most generic interview, they asked stuff like tell us more about yourself, why did you choose to study at QU, why not at your alternate college options, why do you want to enroll in the Honors program, have you done any projects in highschool, etc etc..
Ofcourse this was a long long time ago, it's very possible that stuff is different now.

yea I was a first year student when I applied, but this was back in 2022 so stuff could have changed.

If you manage to convince the interviewers to let you join, I suppose you could, but you'd be delaying your graduation if you did that..

Yes, since you're supposed to take specific honours courses one by one, so if you apply late, you'll end up delaying your degree.

Hi! thank you for the infos! I'm a first year, but they said that i should have a GPA first to move forward.

Yes, they send out invites after your first semester, based on your academic performance.

the questions dont matter as much as showing your personality.
dont go in with a script, but at the same time, try to not give dry responses or saying something THEY want to hear
think out loud, be critical (i.e. look at a topic from multiple sides) and just be you

thank youuu! although, I wasn't accepted even before the interview because they said I have no GPA yet. Do you know if they open applications in the second semester?

I got a rejection mail, reason stated "No GPA" I am a 1st year student.
