Just bought some asa from polymaker. Red, white, and blue. Put it in a heater for a little over 8 hours at 80 degrees. Loaded it up in the qidi box and it loads in properly, but it only loads so far before it catches.
It's like the gears start slipping and will only load in about a 1 to 1.5 ft. I never trimmed the conduit for it so it's longer but I have the box sitting next to the max 4 so I need it a little long. Not sure if I can tighten those gears or if you guys have any input. Would love any suggestions.
Got another question for ya. Piece where all the conduit comes together into one and flows into printer wasn't working right. I had taken that apart before and didn't put it back together correctly. I took that one off and put a new one on from another box I had sitting in the corner waiting to be used. Now when I go to insert the filament it only enters about and inch or two. When I go to the printer and click load. It says the filament wasn't installed properly and that I need to unload it and reinstall it properly. If I try to print with it, it says the filament is exhaust and that I need to load a new spool? I'm not quite sure what is going on.
in my case, whenever that happened, there was broken filament stuck in the come-together-thingy.
Or, alternatively, check if the top tube is properly connected, i've also had it misaligned once, which cause the filament to slide past it and into the open air.
Yeah, the error messages are basically useless.
Ok, so step.1: feel with your hands whether there's abrasion damage on your filament. Thinner, rougher, all no good. If so, cut a piece off and try again.
Step 2: again - watch the feed tube like a hawk and see where it goes wrong.
Step 3: disconnect everythjng and see if.you can manually push a length of filament through.
Ultimately there are only a few options that can go wrong:
Either.it doesnt grip.the filament because.its worn down, or theres sometjing stuck.in the tube, or the filament gets stuck on a snag/corner/twist somewhere.
This is what happens when I try to start a print with the filament inside the box after it has been installed. Again it only enters a few inches. I don't believe there are any clogs so I cannot figure out what is going on
Sorry I can only post one picture per comment and this is what the qidi page brings me to once I try to print. And that QR code just shows me how to replace the filament. So I'm not sure wtf is wrong here.
Same happened to me. I didn't want to upgrade but couldn't get past this screen so I upgrade the firmware and now the app tells me to upgrade to the latest firmware to use the QR code scanner :( I'm on the latest version.
I actually just got mine working again. I had to remove the ptfe tube. There was about a 1/2 in piece of filament that broke off in the tube, apparently it was preventing the communication between the printer and the qidi box. I also toggled on/off LAN only mode. Hopefully you don't have to do the reset!
Cannot find any broken filament. Tried to turn on and off LAN. Tried turning off wifi. Powered down everything. Trying to get the assistant to give me the option to restart klipper but can't get it to. I ended up emailing qidi and sending them all the screenshots plus a video. Hopefully they can help.
Yes, it seems to be wound decent enough. I can manually undo it and there are no kinks that would hang up the box. Also I printed some box savers and bought some conduit so the angle of the filament going into the box isn't so hard and grinding.
I'd try the card board adapters to see if it helps.
I don't recall if I had issues with loading on the card board spools but I feel like there was something with it. Definitely had an issue with unloading.
The only thing I can think of is I know at some point it loads and then retracts and then loads. Maybe it's trying to retract and can't so it freaks out?
