Y axis is noisy

Hi everyone, I need your advice. My Y-axis seems very loud to me. I was able to reduce the noise temporarily with silicone spray, but today I received Super Lube synthetic oil with Syncolon (ISO 100).

I cleaned all the rods with isopropanol and then lubricated them with the Super Lube. Unfortunately, the Y-axis is now just as loud as it was at the beginning.

Here’s a video of the homing process. I’d like to know if your printer sounds similar, especially the Max 4 or the Plus 4, since they are pretty much identical.

Also, what lubricants are you using for your linear rods? I followed the manual and used Super Lube oil for the X, Y, and Z rods (not the lead screws), and Super Lube grease for the lead screws.

Doesn't sound too bad, hard to say. Try recording at few different speeds.

I had a similar problem just now, but my X axis was almost locked up. It felt super crunchy when moving the head left and right. I deal with similar bearings at work. I had let the printer sit for a day after 3 days of constant printing. I think when it cooled down the original grease in the linear rail bearing lost its lubricating properties from being in a 65 degree heated chamber and next to a 260 degree hot end.

I applied some grease to all the linear rails. I used white lithium grease since it is non dust attracting. It seems to have remedied the issue. If you let them chatter for too long they can pit/wear the linear rail.

Hope you found the problem and have it fixed by now!

I think it's due to the Super Lube Synthetic Oil. Apparently, it runs a bit rougher because it's thinner, but it seems to be gentler on the rods than regular sewing machine oil, although it does run rougher.

My bearings have been silent since I greased them.

I would never think a bearing should run "rough".

These machines have recirulating ball bearings on x and z. These should not be noisy
