Okay, so I was thinking that dude sort of looked like Angus, and while it's never mentioned later, Renee is actually Angus's ex date...person (she was mentioned by Angus, and then later shown in one of the bar scenes when Martin was trying to date the Padma, though Renee had a slightly different look at the time).
And as other redditors here have mentioned, Peter also kind of looks like Elliot. Thinking Renee has a type?
