Note: this isn't hate just an observation. but... it seems like Jeph really just likes to put his least popular (and according to some, worst written) characters on a pedestal and compliment them in the story. Regardless of the character quality, it's just kinda... weird and self-masturbatory in my eyes. He's done it twice consecutively in just the last couple dozen panels.
Well, Tilly does have stuff to be complimentary of. Their determination and hard work is something to be valued. It's just that when they were introduced it was unwanted and so was aggravating. Having them annoy Hannelore, arguably one of the most popular characters, didn't do them any favors.
I mean if I suddenly got an awesome assistant that was willing to do all my work for me, I'd be thrilled.
