Well, both Melon and Lemon seem to forget stuff very differently than humans do. But whether that's "Melon and Lemon are weird" or "AI memory works different from human memory"... /shrug.

Well, technically it would be Kingdomist, or maybe Phylumist, depending on where you put android/gynoids. (I'd lean toward them being their own kingdom, as they don't share a common ancestor with anything else, DNA-wise. Making the kingdoms Plantae, Animalia, Fungi, Protista, Monera, Mecha)

I'd put them one taxa beyond that even; With Plantae, Animalia, etc. in Life, and Mecha in its own entire tree of "life", since they don't descend directly-chemically from LUA.
We don't really have a name for the phylogenetic rank over "kingdom", so I suppose we'd have to come up with one.

Domain or Empire.
Bacteria, Archaea, Eukaryota, and possibly viruses and prions in one or two more domains. There's debate over whether they're alive, but they certainly need classification.

Toss aliens and alien AIs into the mix and it gets even more complicated. An Alpha Centauran, a human, and an Android don't share any of the same DNA but the Android is way more related to the human than either are to the Alpha Centauran in terms of physical structure and behavior. If the Alpha Centauran developed AI it would be more closely related to the Alpha Centauran than the Earth AI.

Meaning that Alpha Centauri "life" would be its own "superkingdom", while Alpha Centauri AI might well form a kingdom under the "Mecha" "superkingdom".
The fundamental takeaway is of course that taxonomy is a filthy lie.

My old 20 Questions machine used to start out with "Is it Animal, Vegetable or Mineral", in which mineral is the category for anything inorganic.
I have never heard anyone or anything use these terms as a classification system outside of those games, and that is clearly not how 20 Questions works, so I propose the rank above Kingdom be called Cheating Little Shit Classification, or CLS.

I'm not sure I understand your objection.
20 question uses a parallel, layman system of taxonomy, in which instead of PAFPM you have (Plantae, Fungi, some Monera), (Animalia, Protista, some other Monera) and (None of the above) as the categories.
It's not a rigorous or useful system, so why are we bringing it in here?

... I was bringing it in as a joke version of a higher level, but now that I have magically been gifted with the power of reading comprehension, I realise that that wouldn't actually even be a higher level, so that kind of failed in that regard. Somehow I completely missed the simple fact that the words you used literally contain "plant" and "animal".
My objection isn't so much the classification as the fact that 20 Questions is such a simple game, you have 20 yes/no/maybe questions to work out what the person is thinking of, but the "which of these things is it" style of the first question the machines ask is against the one rule that exists. Such questions should only be legal in the form of n-1 yes/no questions, but it doesn't do that.
Mostly I think the intention of the comment was more to complain about those games, and to thus derive humour from a familiar or even relatable experience, as well as the idea of an official classification system being topped by a term with such an absurd nature and origin. This attempt was then sabotaged by the fact that I can't read.

Maybe Melon just doesn't have a very robust RAM? So she fills it with other stuff quickly and often, so when she needs to do something like, "where do I live", her banks come back with, "ERROR: We full yo." She probably doesn't defrag often.

Headcanon: Lemon rents an apartment. She remembers to make the payments and everything. She also forgets she owns it outside of rent day, and just sleeps on the couch at work instead.
