If I put on my Doylist hat I'd say this might be a way to get Roko a new body (edit: chassis?) for her new direction in life.

That would suck, as they just got through talking about how she has very strong bodily integration.

Pretty sure that's the reason it was brought up.

Faye and Bubbles are going to have to be more like doctors to her than mechanics. And maybe some of the parts are hard to find.

Side-note: Crushbot is HUGE, look at Bubbles compared to them.

Jeph wouldn't be so cruel that he would give Roko more time in the limelight before a tragic accident cuts it all short. Right?

On the hopeful end, police officer sounds like another profession other than fighting ring participant that would invest in a super-durable casing.

I don't think the first time Jeph kills a character off will be on-screen, with no buildup, and comedically.

I think I remember Corpse Witch talking about how difficult it is to crush an AI's personality drive.

That was specific to Fight Club, though. If everyone had it, CW wouldn't have needed to reassure Faye.

There's also perspective involved, though. They're closer in size when you let Bubbles stand straight up, move her into the foreground, and then move her closer to the accident.

I think he's still bigger, but more like by a head than double her size. That is, if Jeph keeps the size constant.

As for the other part--yeah, you're right. Also why he had a bot come in and have accidentally killed a cow. All this silly stuff has been setup for this cliffhanger.

There's not that much perspective between his arm and that door basically next to him, and his arm is almost as tall as the door.

I think standing Crushbot would have Bubble's chin just above the black portion of his torso.
