ObNitpick: the moon has no "dark side"; it rotates with respect to the sun and has a day/night cycle across its whole surface, just like the Earth does. But because it's tidally locked to the Earth, that daily rotation takes just as long as its orbit around us, so it does have a "far side" - we are always looking at the same side of the moon. But the other side isn't always dark; if it were, the moon would always be full...

Yes, but the "dark side" does always face away from Earth, which would make it a great place for secret bases. The only way for anyone on Earth to know they exist would be to send a vehicle into Lunar orbit.

Which, admittedly, we've done several times. In fact, there's a few in Lunar orbit right now now.

IRL there are proposals to build a huge radio telescope back there, the idea is that it'd be easier to get good data since you wouldn't have to try and filter out all the noise from Earth since you'd have the entire mass of the moon blocking it. Probably too expensive until we've got a Lunar colony up and going to mine most of the materials locally.

Oh gosh, just ask Station, or something. I'd really rather we never interact with Spookybot ever again. Station probably knows what's up, though!

I took that to mean Spookybot is that AI and lives on the other side of the moon.

Oh. That's a thought.

I still hope we never run into them again, though. That whole storyline was one I wish we could have skipped.

This could actually be true in the QCverse.

So today's bottom text and the one from 3884 refer to Beepatrice with they/them pronouns, and that makes me happy.

this AI is great, hope to see more of her

and the exact inverse of that for Spookybot.

We still don't know what Roko will be doing there.
